I don't complain about game prices, but that's because I rent. That's the way to go.

Because spending money is still spending money, regardless of where you are.

As an America, scraping together $60 is hard enough as it is in this economy and spending on games is not something my family is too happy about.

So, why can't we (or me at least) complain? It's still money out of my pocket isn't it?

If I want a certain Guitar over here, it costs £450.
If I buy it from america, it's £200 plus post and packaging of roughly £75.
*sigh* so much cheaper over there.

You Americans have got it easy.
All the good guitars(and a ton of great games) are made here anyway. It costs money to export goods to another country. Companies have to make that money back by jacking prices up. We're not going to charge more to ship within the US. It's the privilege of being here.

The only people I ever see bitching about game prices are children still in school, who can't necessarily afford it; So you'll see a lot of, "Which should I buy?" threads.

The other side, is almost always UK or Aus, and rightly so, because they have to deal with import and VAT, etc. I don't remember the last time I've seen "Americans constantly bitching". This is yet another stupid generalization from ignorant, thoughtless tossers. Grow up already. Every country in the world has dense buffoons who complain about everything. Don't even get me started on the fact that Europeans murder one another over f'ing football games.

Oh wait, was that a thoughtless generalization of Europeans, that has no basis in reality? Why, yes, yes it was! See how remarkably ignorant and baseless it sounds? Amazing huh.

That's just my opinion on the matter.

I find it a little hilarious when Americans complain about paying, say, US$60 for games.

Modern Warfare 2 on Steam is a hilarious example. Adjusted for regional pricing, I have to pay $88 USD for it. Nearly a year after release.

As it was I got it through retail for $70 USD, which I consider a bargain.

NB: It seems that, over time, the difference between the US price and NZ price has narrowed. In the late nineties/early 00's a $30 USD game was $130 NZ. That really burned my biscuit. Now it's $130 NZD for a $60 USD game.

At this rate, by 2035 or so we should have equal pricing.

was about to say something just like this.

i've seen plenty of "which should i " threads, which even then the people aren't "bitching", it just gets old. i have yet to see americans "complaining about prices". did you watch some biast tv or speaker? because that is not how people react over here, sure anyone can be cheap, but they dont say they dont understand why its 60 dollars, and they dont care about paying that much for a good game, hell i know some friends who would pay 100 for a good game (myself included). Paying 60..or 120..or hell even 500 dollars for a piece of crap is gonna make you whine and complain no matter what, if you ate a normally good one dollar candy bar that tasted like utter shit, would you not complain and get pissed off about it?

this whole thread was a bunch of generalizing and rude remarks when your not even looking at the location/exports/imports/currency rate/supply vs. demands of all the countries.

That's what I was saying.
You have everything cheaper.

Which was what this thread is about. You have it cheaper, yet you all seem to piss and moan about the expense, when in reality, us Limeys pay a shitload more.
