EDIT: And i dunno about the texture of the Xbox controller, compared to the PS controller. The Xbox just feels cheap and I could crack it if i gripped it too hard. I had this feeling too with the PS1 controller until they added the analog sticks.
I feel the other way, to me the lightness of the ps3 controller(at least the sixaxis, havent tried the dualshock) makes it feel flimsy, like i could crack it in half if i really tried, while the 360 controller has some heft, also, the ps3 controller makes my hands feel cramped, but the 360 seems to fit my hand perfectly, but i digress, i dont really feel badly about either.

I think that tge 360 controller is pretty much spot on like,

yeah the d-pad is crap but the ps3 conrtroller feels to light and flimsy.

I get really sweaty hands off the wii controller aswell...

If you're playing a Wii you should be getting sweaty, if you aren't then you're not doing it right.

I don't really have a preference controller-wise, I find I can adapt pretty quickly. Especially when you consider most games use the same buttons regardless of console.

Am I the only one that prefers the Gamecube controller over current gen controls? Just fits much nicer in my hands.

360 controllers I can cope with tho, as most buttons are more or less the same place as the GC one, but its that bit bigger and the sholders are more "trigger" in shape. PS2 Dualshock however... eh, hate them, I feel my thumbs screaming in pain trying to bend to use the analogue stick while still being able to use the sholder buttons effectively. Why they still have the D-Pad in primary location is beyond me. Nintendo had the analogue as prime with the n64, and MS were smart enough to notice that and do that with their first controller also.

It really depends on the game for me. For games that are physics intensive, or what I consider "weighty," I actually prefer that the controller is larger. Makes me feel like I have a greater grasp on what I'm doing. The principal is the same with first person shooters.

With lighter games, though, like fighting games, I'd much prefer to use a PS3 controller. Like many before me have said, the D-Pad just isn't right.

the 360 controller is great.

most people I see complain about the OLD Xbox controller, especially the REALLY old one.

and it's usually just because they were almost as big as a gamecube.
This. On Microsofts own admission, they product-tested the size of the original controllers primarily on people who were built large (basketball players and the like) instead of the average human being.

I much prefer a 360 controller-it seems to sit nicer in my hand, the analoue sticks are nicely placed and the finger buttons are the right size and shape for comfortable long term play. But I've always had an xbox, so I think in A, X, Y and B- which confuses my freind when I play on his ps3. Hehe. Plus the PS3 controller seems so light that I could snap it if I got too viguorus. Also, PS3 iz teh suckz because it haz no rumble loz. In case you were wondering, that was sarcasm. Though rumble in COD4 is niiiice.

Personally, I love the 360 controller, and the wii one for that matter. Me and PS3 controllers don't get on.

The old xbox controllers were a pile of steaming turd.
The current ones, at least the wired one I have, is one of the easiest controllers of all time in my opinion. Maybe the wireless ones a different but I don't really give a shit. Am I likely to ever be far enough from my 360 that I'll need wireless? Probably not.
I do still keep calling the A button the X button though. God knows why, it's not like I had a Sony obsession growing up but there you go.

I prefer where the analog sticks are on the 360, it's just like the Gamecube one, so I adapted
but the circular D-pad is obnoxious

I much prefer the 360 controller to the PS3 controller. It seems to fit in my hands better and I prefer the offset analog sticks to the side by side ones. I've never really had any problems with the D-Pad at all.

The PS3 controller is fine, but it's less comfortable, I hate how sensitive the R2 and L2 buttons are (I'll be trying to aim carefully at someone and the gun randomly shoots, alerting the enemy to my presence so I can't pick him off from afar. Leaving me confused for a moment before I realized my finger lightly touched it.) and I don't like the Sixxaxis very much at all.

the PS controller is just to light for me but the sticks are symetrical and using my 360 controller tends to give my hands a cramp but shoulder buttons are better than the PSs so either way i could use both.

I'll take the PS2 controller over the Xbox controller every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I just like the way it feels, the XBox controller seems like it was made for gorilla hands. I have above-average sized hands (I can palm a basketball no problem, and could since I was about 15) and I still find it hard to reach all the buttons. I also like the R2/L2 buttons rather than the RT/LT trigger buttons. The way they press just feels better, imo.

This forum is Xbox dominant. If Xbox controller hate makes you cry at night you'll feel at home here.

Welcome.

Does anyone use it?
Seriously?
Theya re just an extra set of buttons. Like for weapon switching and such.

Seriously, everyone uses it. You just aren't that aware of it.

I'd take the 360 controller over the PS3 controller, mainly because the triggers feel more responsive and the analogs are more comfortably placed. The PS3 controller actually has a functional d-pad, though, so bonus points for that.

As for the PS2 vs Xbox original... I still prefer the Xbox controller's analog sensitivity. Everything else goes to the PS2.

Oh yeah, another thing is that people forget there are more controllers than just the default one.

You get them the same way you get any other controller. Purchasing at your retailer or online.

Let me guess: The FragFX Controller for the PS3? You're so predictable ElArab!
