Like most people, I just hate it when they attempt to force their beliefs down my throat.

...That was a good hamburger, too;_;
That acually happened to you? Or is that like an example
Yes, that actually happened a month or so ago.

I don't hate them as long as they don't try to convert me then its annoying, I like hamburgers I don't care if you think its inhumane get out of my face. Thats acctually never happened to me though so really I have no problem with them sometimes its a dietary choice sometimes its a religious thing I believe Hindus can't eat meat and I respect it regardless.

I don't care if you eat red meat or not. I just don't like it when people go on and on about how me eating chicken is murder and blah, blah, blah.

The issue is that many (if not most) vegetarians aren't just vegetarians. They're self-aggrandizing, holier-than-thou, condescending jerks... And vegetarians. No one, I believe, would mind vegetarians if they kept it to themselves. It's the proselytizing that gets one people's nerves. "I just don't eat meat" is a completely different kettle of fish from "I wish I could suppress that voice in my brain that told me eating meat is wrong". Make your choice and stick to it, but don't expect anyone else to agree with you.

I don't care what or how you eat--just don't self-righteously preach to me about how I'm so mean to the animals. I hate it when people do that.

Vegetarians are fine as long as they don't try to preach to me not to eat meat.
PETA can go die in a bonfire though, but they're not rational, they're utterly insane.

I hope getting this thrown at me someday: "Don't eat meat, some animal died for that you know.."
Just so I can respond: "At least I'm not letting the meat go to waste by not eating it!"

To all -militant- vegetarians (not the peaceful, tolerant ones, please don't be offended) and PETA who whine about murder of defenseless animals, if we didn't kill them or use them for our own gain, I would be assured there wouldn't be any domestication of them and they'd be extinct for a long time already.

Hence I say, to all PETA members: "Save the cows, eat ham!"

So I ask you, Escapist. What are your feelings toward this subject?
I'm fine with vegetarians as long as they don't preach at/judge me for enjoying meat from time to time.

i don't care one way or another but think about this,

Cows release methane which is a major contributor to green house gases, by eating meat i am reduceing green house gas emissions. on the flip side if you eat the Oxygen producing plants then you are KILLING OUR PLANET. :O

I jokingly make fun of my friends. I was eating bacon once and my vegetarian friend came over and I offered her piece. Her face was priceless. But yeah, I have a bunch of friends who are vegetarians and they look at me the same joking way I look at them.

I think there's a certain amount of macho antipathy directed towards vegetarians. Even here, I've seen comments to the effect of 'Enjoy your rabbit food, while I demolish this huge slab of manly steak'.

I'm vegetarian for ecological reasons. Don't give a toss about the animals. They were raised to be eaten. The problem is that they are fed crops that we could eat ourselves. And they eat a disproportionate amount of the stuff, with not very much output.
An expanding population won't be able to share the planet comfortably with steaks-to-be eating all the food.

Long answer: They believe vegetarians to be smug and self-righteous because they don't eat meat.

Short answer: PETA.

I have nothing against anyone based only on what they eat.

I think that sometimes vegetarians do bring it on themselves. Not all of them, but sometimes you'll come across one who is very pretentious about it. People like that make it difficult for regular people who just make a lifestyle choice.

I don't want to be made to feel bad because I have a balanced diet.

I used to think that it was stupid for people to make themselves unhealthy but then I had a talk with my friend Nicolette.
I hadn?t noticed that she was a vegetarian, it was only after it came up in conversation that I realised that I couldn?t think of any time she had eaten meat. She has always been perfectly healthy and never lagged at sports etc, so her diet didn't make her less healthy.
For a joke another of our friend slipped her some meat and because her body had gone without it for so long the meat actually made her sick. Are friend felt really guilty afterwards.
So most vegetarians aren?t pretentious and don't try and make the rest feel bad.
It?s just unfortunate that some people can?t help but be jerks.
