I don't care if you eat people just don't try and convert me or tell me how much happier I would be as a vegetarian... because beef is what makes me happy...

A lot of vegetarians shun people who do eat meat, and think they are on a higher moral plane for not eating meat, in other words, not all but most vegetarians are self-righteous assholes.

More often than not and this also applies to the recent hate on government policies is that we have people who are in the minority or positions of power using persuade or create laws that control other people's behavior. I am in favor of encouraging people making healthy choices but more often than not we run into that annoying person saying that their way of life is much better and you should follow him.

I really don't think anyone actually hates other people or their decision to be a vegetarian or smoker but is annoyed at the amount of bombardment one receives from strangers about their own decisions. This is where common sense has to take place as well as common courtesy and even then the person asking still has to respect the person if the answer is no.

I don't smoke but I really hate knowing that people have gone to such extremes to tax cigarettes and go insane with the non-smoking zones. With this freedom I do also realize that there will be a lot of people who will abuse the freedom and ruin freedom for others.

In short people don't hate you or your choice but are annoyed at the subject because more often than not the context when a person talks about being vegan or a vegetarian is "You should also become a vegetarian yadda yadda yadda..." It is annoying, just let me make my own decisions as a fellow adult.

Because some vegetarians go out of their way to insist that they're vegetarian. They'll make you cook vegie food specifically for them, then won't return the favour. It may obnoxious to say that, but the least you could do is return the favour.

i dont think its a good idea, because while you can technically get all the nutrients you need, you gotta eat a lot of veggies to get em.

but there's nothing wrong with eating vegetarian.

Vegetarians?

Why? Its just an eating choice and has absolutely no effect on anyone, yet at the very mention of vegetarianism, people freak out and call them retards and liars.

I myself was in an argument recently with some fucktard on the internet bashing me about my vegetarian life style on YouTube when I mentioned it on a PETA video. I hate PETA and my exact quote was that I don't support them in any way, but I'm still vegetarian, yet I still get assholes who just go on and on about how much they hate it.

So I ask you, Escapist. What are your feelings toward this subject?
You should have thought about that before you made those poor plants suffer.

I don't hate vegetarians, I hate ones who steal my hamburger and yell at me for being a cannibal.

...That was a good hamburger, too;_;
Somebody actually did that to you?...

Honestly.. If people decide on their own to become vegetarian, then why don't they just respect those who choose to eat meat? Its the same thing with religion almost.. Its fine to believe in whatever you want but don't push your beliefs onto others.

I don't care if you're a vegetarian, a vegan, or a cannibal. As long as you don't annoy me about your choices, I'm fine with what you do.
My life philosophy right here.

Now, when it comes to PETA (who ignore that "annoyance" rule) I have no patience.

Everyone agrees with everyone on this thread!

OT: I agree with everyone! I hate how veggies say eating meat isn't natural! Er... hello were omnivores. Our bodies are designed to consume both meat and veg!

I didn't expect this discussion when I clicked the topic :). It's pretty ironic that many people here say that they don't mind vegetarians as long as they don't force their opinion upon people. The point of many vegetarians is that they do not agree with the way people force their eating habits on animals. The processing of live animals has become a giant industry where consideration of animal wellfare has been moved aside by economic demands. Animals that know fear, stress, pain etc. have no way to speak up or protest (for they are animals and can only scream or whatever they do). By taking a stand for these animals, people try to raise awareness. Many people don't recognize their 'hard earned' big mac for the animal it once was.

It looks like I'm the only one here that's this radical about this topic. Ah well, I'm against eating animals and not afraid to tell people the truth about what they eat. I believe compassion (for animals in this case) is never a wrongful motivation.

People dont hate vegetarians, they hate PETA.
and for a good reason.

PETA actually terminates a huge number of pets every year, more so than any abusive owner or, say...Michal Vick.

I was a vegetarian for awhile(4 years), until I realized how stupid it is.

One thing is you are arguing on Youtube.

Second, I don't hate vegetarians, its Vegans actually that annoy the hell out of me when they try to force there beliefs down my throat, in which I go 'Get that hand any closer to my face and I will bite it off and... EAT IT!' Cannibalism is fun to joke about :)
I take a vegan... AND EAT IT!
