Why do people rave on about Kesha?

I see no appeal in her. I personally think she has little talent and that she doesn't deserve all the fame she has accumulated. The only reason her music is half decent is because it's auto-tuned. It's a shame that there are so many people with real musical talent that receive no recognition, while people like Kesha are around making millions of dollars to look slutty and use auto-tune.

Industry promotes such people and forcefeeds the public with her. Thus she becomes forced into the collective mind of everyone and thus they buy her crap and the corporations gleefully hop around in their office buildings whiping their ass with dollar-bills.

That's why I don't listen to pop music. The music sucks and the "artists" are all whores. Come on, we were all spelling our names with "$" when we were ten. WHERE'S OUR MONEY YOU FILTHY POP MUSIC SOULLESS FIENDS?!

I always come to a bit of a dilemma when this kind of stuff comes up. On the one hand, there is your point, about the lack of recognition going to those with real talent. On the other hand, the music produced is apparently still enjoyed, so while it isn't 'talented' as such, it still creates happiness. Personally, I'd like a middle ground, where talented people are more appreciated, but the 'untalented' but still enjoyable music is also appreciated (but not by one of either elitist group, but rather by everyone to some degree).

She's every party girl's fantasy. You know the girl bopping down the street listening to Tik Tok wants to be out drinking and doing stupid stuff til sunrise with P Diddy while creepy old men hit on her.

I believe he meant Ke$ha. :)

OT: This is the music industry in America (and maybe other places) it is more of sex appeal and looking like a rock/pop star rather than having discernible talent. (I think I used discernible wrong but whatever)

People are gonna get undeserved attention no matter what, does Paris Hilton deserve to be famous? No, but she just IS. Do many other pop culture stars in America (and, again, possibly other places) deserve the recognition they receive over a teacher or a scientist who actually work to change the future of the world? No, but they get it.

I couldn't pick her out of a police lineup. If not knowing pop music makes me an old fogey, then pass the cane and the dentures and GET OFF MY LAWN! I'll be over here listening to Skynyrd.

Not my cup of tea, don't really care. There's always going to be good underground music, so whatever, man. The industry has always been full of sell-outs and cash-ins and the like, and it always will.

Still not ringing any bells, but at least I know what's going on here now.

She's just a product of a manager-run music industry. Music is the typical drivel. Mildly attractive and extremely slutty.

Unfortunately the modern generation that buy into this garbage are all mindless puppets.
I fear for the future of mankind.

The whole Kesha (not spelling her name with a dollar sign because I have dignity and self respect) thing makes me think of that old Bill Hicks quote concerning Debbie Gibson's popularity:

"Who is buying this shit? Is there that much babysitting money being passed around?"

Her music actually offends me its that bad. And its always on the radio at my gym, so when I forget my Ipod I have that voice tearing into my skull. From what I can decipher of the lyrics they seem to be intent on corrupting young women into mindless makeup coated alcohol containers.

One of the few good Cracked articles these days...
She's foul. When Tik Tok first game out I thought she was hot but as I listened to the God-awful song....no. And Blah Blah Blah? What even is that? 3OH3 suck as well. I hate people.
