And why does it bother you, uh? Does it make music you listen to any worse ? To be honest every artist that has a contract with a major recording label can be considered 'whore' or 'money puppet'. Yes, all those 'alternative tru metal' bands with big names behind them as well. So seriously. Give it a rest. Enjoy the music you like and let others enjoy whatever they like. It's not like someone forces you to buy those records...

My theory on this is if the tune itself is catchy, regardless of the lyrics, any song and, by extension, and singer, can become popular. I don't find songs like Tik Tok catchy but I'm sure some do, though if they like the lyrics then I will have to question them. "Wake up feeling like P Diddy." What the hell people.

It's catchy and is fun to dance along to.

The same can be said about most popular music since the 60s. Get over yourselves.

I see no appeal in her.
Did you just make a "I don't like Kesha"-thread? Wow. Are you also the kind of guy that posts under every youtube video "THIS IS MUCH BETTER THAN JUSTIN BIEBER!!!!!!"?

Hating something because many people like it is stupid and does not make you cool. If you didn't like chocolate icecream you also wouldn't run around wearing a T-Shirt saying "I don't like choco-ice".
Disregarding that chocolate ice of course is the best.

What you must remember is that on this forum, quite a lot of people will either be metal fans, or very adverse to things like clubs and dancing.

Which is why I keep my opinions of Lady Gaga quiet here :/

OT: Just dont listen to her? Seriously when people get wound up about stuff that they can ignore, its pretty silly. Just listen to the music you like and want to listen to, and leave the rest of it be. So what if she's more famous than *insert band name here*? Fame isnt everything. Do you think you'd do any different in her place?

Perhaps it also makes you see Mick Jagger these days as somebody who doesn't resemble an elderly troll.
LOL, yeah that lyric always did confuse me. I mean he's not exactly in his physical prime any more is he? :p

Then don't make threads about her. Did you see what you just did?

Dunno, don't care. So far I've been shutting out musicians who don't interest me, and thankfully I haven't gotten their names shoved down my face all the time.
You just introduced not one but FOUR different Escapist users to Ke$ha, people who had never heard of her before, they now know about her existence only because of your thread.

Correct procedure when you come across music you hate is to ignore it and hope it goes away. Not to start threads which basically function as free advertising. There are certain bands and artists which I truly despise but I'll never start a thread about them, because that would be drawing attention to their activities, and I don't want to do that...

(on the other hand I don't have any strong opinions about Ke$ha really, It's just pop music, what's the big deal...)

Who the heck is Kesha?

I'm still listening to Katy Perry. Her stuff is pretty good. Some Marilyn Manson too, though not as much as Katy.

I simply see her as a sold out fake dancer. Watch Fergie on stage. She dances and she sings. Half of her lyrics don't register on the mecrophone as a result, and she's gasping for breath at the end. Then you have artists like Ke$ha, Britney Spears, and many others that dance a whole and and um..... Sing? *SNEEZE* bullshit allergies picking up. And yet they havn't lost any of the breath in their system. They don't sing, they pose.

I don't rant about them, I couldn't be assed with them. I have my own music and despite bing called demonic and harsh, it's fresh, it's not cut my some corporation telling them what to sing, and they do it for the love of singing. They make nothing compared to what these "Artists" make, but they continue to play for us because it's thier life and soul, not because a paycheck is coming in because of it.

Before people ask me why I'm writing in this thread since I couldn't care less about Ke$ha: What do you care? He asked a question, I gave him an answer. Piss off.

I kinda don't mind Katy despite all the bad press she got from the 'music elitists', especially after her performance along with Amanda Palmer, Margaret Cho and Danger Ensemble against the California proposition 8.
