(on the other hand I don't have any strong opinions about Ke$ha really, It's just pop music, what's the big deal...)
If anything's dangerous (and even if this context it's kind of an over-reaction, lets keep it at "a bad influence") to modern day youth it's the kind of music she makes. She glorifies all kinds of horrible things.

"Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack"

I'm sórry? This is the kind of crap the entertainment industry presents to teenage boys and girls? Instead, videogames are getting all the negative attention in the media. As a videogame enthusiast, that kinda creates a grudge.

She's not alone in this, of course, so I'm not going to pick her out and give her any more attention than she deserves.

Besides, in answer to this thread.
Filthy, dirty woman you wouldn't take home to your mom but have some hot, sweaty times with?

Ugh, no, not even remotely. An article on cracked.com wrote a fitting description of her looks:
It looks like she dove in a dumpster. A sticky dumpster.
I'm inclined to agree, she looks like she has a dozen STDs. This is what I want to have hot, sweaty times with:

I'd hit it maybe once, or twice, or three times. She might suck at singing, but she is bangable at least.

Wait... who?

I've never heard of her, maybe she's specific to your region or something. Owell, back to life as usual.

She is drunk and stupid, so are people, so they see her and think "wow there is someone I can really relate too." But it really comes out like "Wow shes all like, amazing, like britney and linsay lohan and the other girl, I should buy her stuff." Because they are drunk and stupid.

The only answer is metal people!
p.s. Is there going to be another one of things where the internet tries to overthrow the pop culture media, like rage against the machine beat the x factor?

Kesha targets the tween demographic.

You know!? The ones who have the most money to spend.

I see no appeal in her. I personally think she has little talent and that she doesn't deserve all the fame she has accumulated. The only reason her music is half decent is because it's auto-tuned. It's a shame that there are so many people with real musical talent that receive no recognition, while people like Kesha are around making millions of dollars to look slutty and use auto-tune.
A good amount of 13-16 year olds in america (or Uk but I don't live there so I can't say) have unrefined tastes in everything from movies to games to songs.

So you get the people who grew out of kid songs and are starting to individualize themselves and are just learning about sex and booze and think this song is cutting edge revolutionary for *gasp!* mentioning bottles of jack and boobies.

Of course everything is entitled to an opinion, but some opinions are better than others.

Edit: after reading this thread I have to add this.

Why do people think they're some special exception when they never heard of whatever the OP talks about on this forum? You see it a lot and its like they're trying to disprove whatever the OP says by saying "never heard of it thus it doesn't exist".

Who is this, and why should I care?

I honestly think the only half-decent thing she's turned out was Tik Tok, and that was just because of the chorus. It had a pretty damn good sound to it, I actually dug it quite a bit. The rest of the song, though, utter shit.

Actually, make that the rest of the song and ALL of her other songs.

In short, I don't listen to pop music, or mainstream radio for that matter. I feel that the best way to find new music is to look through a box of old records at some flea market, or on a rack of tapes or cds in some music exchange. I have never really listened to what the "norm" of music is and for that I think I have developed a very unique and eclectic taste in music. A taste that's as far away from sellouts and money whores like Kesha.

OT: It really is an odd thing when it comes to pop music. All the people that I hang out with laugh at the simple mention of such musical travesties as Kesha or basically anything on Mainstream radio. The way I see it, Kesha has got about as much lasting appeal as Lady Gaga or any pop star. The minute all her so called "talent" is run dry the music industry will spit her out in place of someone else; someone else that we can talk about on this type of forum.

I couldn't pick her out of a police lineup. If not knowing pop music makes me an old fogey, then pass the cane and the dentures and GET OFF MY LAWN! I'll be over here listening to Skynyrd.
It's easy. She'll be the one covered in body glitter.

Her music is the ultra-shallow pop music that hate so much. But I guess if you wanna go out partying, it's a fitting dance music, which is pretty much the opposite of what I like. She also looks sticky. It's probably the glitter.

First thought: People rave about Kesha?
Second thought: Eh, who gives a shit, she knows how to please people with music, who cares if she just listened to a producer or not and put in little effort
Getting jealous isn't helping

I'll quote something somebody said as a comment on a Kesha article on Cracked.com

"I like her because if I'm ever in a room alone with her I'll atleast bet a hand-job"

I'm a fan of bands like Guns N Roses, System Of A Down and Pearl Jam. So this auto-tuned crap is pretty much a joke to me.

Besides. Have you ever really looked at her ? I've never seen a person who looks like a walking STD. Besides. She seems to have a constant layer of slime on her.

Popular music isn't about the sound anymore, it's about the who.

And NOT The Who (band)
