It is the worldwide example of what humanity is and why it should be annihilated.

That bought a tear to my eye. Such a moving speech.

OT: I don't particularly hate the US, but it is sad that most of what Mr Montmorency said is true.

Our government gets itself involved in world affairs that simply don't concern us.
This pretty much. I don't know if the UK is as hated, but no-one I know wanted to get into this war, it's probably the same as the US... hated because of the government. I tried searching around to gather up some interesting information and found this:

?The overall conclusion reached is that the United States most likely has been responsible since WWII for the deaths of between 20 and 30 million people in wars and conflicts scattered over the world.?

?How many September 11ths has the United States caused in other nations since WWII?? The answer is: possibly 10,000.?

http://mlyon01.wordpress.com/2007/09/04/how-many-911s-has-the-us-caused-in-other-countries-since-wwii/

And really the more I read about it the stronger I feel about it all. That article is very informative actually, I'd read up on the recent history of Afghanistan and it's interesting to find out more about it. The US and the UK really fudged that place up.

im only asking this because its in every forum i go to. If this has been done before sorry but im getting sick and tired of people bashing the US with no explenation. I DO NOT WANT A FLAME WAR! i just want an explenation so please no america sucks comments.
because
1.they are fat
2.they are hippies
3.they are smug
4.they are dumb
5.they are insecure
6.they are easily offended
7.they have no sense of honer
8.they are lazy

well, thats what all the other people say. not too sure myself seeing how it is IMPOSSIBLE to say that 3 million people are exactly the same.
I'm gonna nit pick you because of the implications of the word.

Honor is the word that you're looking for. Honer is something... less than work appropriate that I'm not comfortable with explaining here. Urban dictionary it.

OT: We're warmongering pricks that like to piss off everyone at once by declaring unilateral war, are only interested in getting involved in foreign affairs when it threatens our own soil (despite being "allies), come into another country expecting people to speak and understand English perfectly... Shall I go on?

You people have too many commercial breaks on tv!
Makes me want to vomit with rage...

I'll admit that I don't like certain aspects of American society, such as an apparent abundance in fundamentalist christians, perhaps leading to your lack of acceptance in evolution (Only about 40% of people accept it, according to one study. What the hell, guys?).

But I agree with others that all this hatred is directly related to the size of the US. You're a much larger and more famous country, and so people will tend to focus in on you, instead of smaller ones, such as Panama (random example).

In my region which is lumber based there was only one partner for trading the US then they introduced tariffs that prevented that, then an other company in town was bought out by an American company causing half the jobs in town to go away, then the new project in town was just given to American CEOs...

Though this is for Canada you see similar cases around the world (excluding the tariffs)

The truth is likely that you are the easiest target that anyone can use to disturb the peace in a few years china will finish taking over the role.

I think China would like to have a word with you, my friend. The only thing bigger and scarier than China is Google. XD

I think that a lot of people "hate" America because they have idealized notions of what we are like as a country. If my only exposure to the States was the type of media we produce, the politicians we "elect" (big joke there), and the image we put off, I would despise us too.

The America I have always known and loved is full of artists, subversives, dance, music, drag queens, crushing poverty, excellent food, banjos, laughter, miniatures gaming, beautiful weather, a non-existent job market, and some of the best hiking you can imagine.

I know a lot of Europeans who have a "pompous fat cat sitting on a pile of nukes" image of America, and while this may be true on the surface, if you know where to look, parts of America are downright bohemian!

I really don't have an issue with Americans. I wasn't pleased with GWB's decisions as President, but then I didn't have to live under that. I didn't appreciate the conglomerates over there remaking "Life On Mars" without John Simm - because, frankly, he made that show awesome - but then if I don't like it, I don't have to watch it.

Then there was Fox and Firefly... I still get a little teary.

But then I think - this is the country that gave me Star Trek and gave geeks of the world Star Wars. There are many things I have to thank the US for. Johnny Depp, for example. Thank you, USA, for giving me Johnny Depp. It was very thoughtful of you.

So, really, I don't hate the US. I think the grand scheme of things that people just don't like the blaise attitude that some extremely patriotic Americans have that they live in the greatest place on Earth. You know what? I think my country is pretty awesome. It's sunny and warm most of the year and I'm not afraid to leave my house in the city at night. That's something to be appreciative of, too.

Because there's no one else to sufficiently hate.

Russia's a shadow of what it used to be, Germany up and lost it's chance at being the big cheese around 1940, and Japan.... I don't think I need to go there.

Kind of like how the British of old were hated. They were the biggest around. And the big ones tend to be big pricks.

EDIT: Also because of reasons listed above.

EDIT 2: Also, arrogance. Lots and lots of arrogance.
Biggest how? Its just that I don't get.. :/

Because we're the ones some envy - we have money, food, cars, fuel, and an okay government.

Doesn't mean we're good.

When I said "biggest" I meant "most 'famous'".

Actually, I'm pretty sure that by landmass, China is smaller, but has a lot more people (2 billion compared to America's 300 million) While Russia is larger, but has less people.

I think by "Bigger" Irridium meant something along the lines of military and economic force.

OT: Have you ever seen Beerfest? I think that's how most of the people in the world think we see them as, so they hate us in return. Also, a lot of Americans kinda hate everyone else in the world. I've never really understood it, but I guess people like hating on shit.

That, AND we're quite ignorant(I try to not get involved with things I don't understand. Usually I just watch and see what happens).
