It seems like you need to know what it is to be flat broke... no offense. I'll explain.
IM BROKE, thus i will not waste my hard earned cash (or whats left of it) on crappy looking games or even good looking games, until ive read a few reviews... And for people who always need to be playing games... wel replay your old ones... i reinstalled DEUS EX on my PC like 3 times just because nothing that sounded worthwile was coming out at the time...

Bad games are pretty much all there is out there. Well not bad, but less than good. It seems to be the gold standard nowadays and everyone just eats it up and if anyone points out any design mistakes every fanboy out there immediately thinks of a thousand excuses for said bad design choice.

It's why there are so many mistakes in fallout 3 and halo 3 but no one who plays it and enjoys it seems to care or notice. Hell I am even seeing flaws in left 4 dead and I fucking love valve. The difference is that I am not a cocksucking fanboy who can tell the difference between good and bad.

just remember guys. every game has flaws. it's really hard to make a game, and there'll always be glitches in every game in the not so distant future

I think it also comes down to our expectations, or otherwise nostalgia. You wanted to finish the Simpsons game because you like/enjoy/love/[whatever] the Simpsons. You may sit through Psychonaughts, hate it but keep playing because everyone says that it is amazing (I haven't played it so cannot pass judgement).

Or otherwise buy an old game/console because everyone harps on about how revolutionary a game was for a certain system back in late 80's early 90's but compared to nowadays when it has been copied you do not see the attraction, but once again feel that you must complete it because of what everyone else has said.

Because I can never leave a game unfinished.
Same here, I dont know how many crap games i've beaten just for the sake of beating it. Also I kinda enjoyed the simpsons game... manly for its really trippy ending!

well you need to play a bad game to know why a game is as good as it is
This is particularly true if you are an aspiring writer/game designer/whatever. You really need a good idea of not just what's succeeded, but what's failed as well, to get some ideas of how your work will look to other people.

Because there's bad games and there's terrible games.

Peggle is bad (kitshtastic) Alpha Centurai is bad (Cloning Vats) Hidden and Dangerous is all sorts of bad...but they're fun.

Good Games, like Portal, lift you up so high that actually defeating GLADos is a bit of a comedown.

So, bad games are good; good games are bad, but terrible games (I'm looking at you Unreal 2) are just the pits.

I will only play a 'bad' game if I enjoy it. Though, if you're able to finish it, surely it can't be THAT bad...

I don't. If any one part of a game is unacceptable bad I stop playing and either return it or sell it on EBay.

For the achievement points
Of course. It's the only reason I bothered with Oblivion after they told me to go to each of the cities and remove an almost identical Oblivion Gate. They can fuck right off.

I play bad games (I don't really have much anyway. Only 4 or 5) because I want to see what makes a bad game or a good game.

The latest bad game I bought was Uncharted: Drakes Fortune. I finished the game because I wanted to see the ending so I can judge the story (I think a good story can make up for many flaws). After I finished it I knew that I will never play the game again.

WHAT? What flaws? That game was just about flawless. It was not really new or really original, but it was not flawed.

I never said that Uncharted had flaws. I just said that a good story can make up for many flaws. I know that Uncharted was just about flawless.
