To be blunt, idiots.

Such as standing in doorways so they act like a wall, choosing something like CTP then doing nothing but look for kills, going on TDM and do silly stuff like spinning while firing, firing your gun as soon as you start the match (it's like asking for a noob tube to kill your team) etc etc.
damn right, stupidity is my main reason to rage quit, thats why i generally dont play games without a friend or 2, it always seems that i get stuck with the dough-headed tools that cant figure out simple things like in mw2 when they run out directly in front of the same person thats camping or out into a airstrike or chopper gunner or pave low or chasing you down when a pred comes in... angers me greatly...

also... lag... cant stand it, ive been trying to play bfbc2 lately since ive quit mw2 because its turned into a halo wannabe game and ive been lagging my ass off on bfbc2 to the degree that my guns change 2 or 3 times when i press the button once or like im walking around without friction and slip and slide around in a firefight

oh oh oh i just remembered the insane annoyance that is waw online, i dont have any of the map packs so when i try to play a quick game i have to leave and join games 10 or so times to get a non-download map even though it says the packs are disabled, game frigging lies to me and it annoys the hell out of me sometimes

Why do people say ragequitting is bad? I mean, yes, it would be best for them to stick around, but if they're all ragey, isn't it better that they don't take it out on the other players/ game/ controller?

Whenever there are too many rambo's in a TEAM game, happens so often in TF2, L4D etc. etc. is it that hard to co-operate some times?

Only in extreme circumstances do I rage quit.
In fact the last time I rage quitted was when I was playing Gears 2 three days ago. It was Guardian and two things happened.
1) For some reason, my game does not register the melee button very well so I just get right up in their face and they blow me to bits with the shotgun because Marcus won't smack them with the BUTT OF THE SHOTGUN!!! Sorry I yelled a bit there.

2) When it does register the melee button, I smack them but they are somehow able to shoot before I do which is bullshit. On top of that, the shotgun has become grossly underpowered...espeacially for me since I have to be point-blank range to kill someone with it while everyone else can blow me to bits from 5 yards away.

I used to love the shotgun in Gears 1 but now I hate it. Whenever I pick up a weapon, I get rid of the shotgun just to get something more potent...I also get rid of the shotgun in SP, it's worthless. In Gears 3, they better bring back the Gears 1 shotgun along with the Gears 1 sound effect because it just sounds retarded now. If they don't there's going to be hell to pay. I sold the game that day because the MP had been modified so much that it became broken...well broken-er; it was broken from day 1 with that F***ing retared "you can't quit the match and if you do you loose XP" crap.

The exact same thing has been happening to me in BC2 on both counts but I have to deal with the rubber-band effect on top of that.
Whats worse, sometimes I only play for like 60 seconds then the game lags out entirely.

ive yet to be kicked from a game but theres times i just say f**k it and turn off my xbox because of the lag getting me stuck on pebbles while driving a tank or trying to put down a arty strike as a sniper and when im almost done targeting the game thinks i wanna shoot my rifle or the game thinks it would be funny to see me appear in front of a tank

I rage quit for various reasons, such as if the other person is obviously hacking or glitching, or if the connection is really bad and laggy but only seems to affect me.

Team killing, spawn camping, and a poor score-line send me off on one. Team killing and spawn camping are pretty much every-one's pet peeves, but I also get really hacked off if my score is running low. I don't mind at all if I finish a game with 20 kills to 26 deaths, but if I start a game and find myself with 2 kills and 8 deaths, I get really p*ssed off at my own poor performance and quit out.

Oh, and alcohol decreases my patience levels for the above three, so I rage-quit quite a lot more after a few beers down the pub. I'll rarely rage-quit around 2pm Saturday, for example, but I'll quite often rage-quit around 2am Saturday.

i rage quit for too reasons:
1. bad lag, this is less rage and more dissapointment at the assumption that I'm in silicon vally with 10GB/s net connection. you know what, on second thought that does give me rage. If the original starcraft (12 years old) still has enough people online for me to be able to enjoy a lag free game (it gives you a list with latency indicators), why cant these new gaming titans afford me the same luxury?

2. That would be Midnight club 2, that game nearly made me break the monitor. (assuming I can rage quit on single)

Yes, i do like brackets. (so what?)

I dont rage quit because im not a winey little *****. It somebody is using one the the "noob" setups in mw2 il just switch to my acr w/grenade launcher, rpgs, and danger close. I also have control over my emotions and dont start crying over something that happens in a video game.
you do realise that mw2 multi is based entirely on "noob setups", and that if you think mastering the art of run and gun will somehow transfer into skill on any other fps, i would advise you to think again.

MW2=mainstream. Mainstream=pants on head retarded.
PS. thats my offensive rant for the week. (next week will be the pope. whats up with his hat?)

I don't rage quit. I was playing Red Dead in free roam the other day, these guys possied up, so it was 6 vs 1, and I've never had so much fun on online multiplayer before. Hiding in the mountains, using the radar, I was kicking their asses...felt like Rambo. The best part was listening to them tell me I was crap at the game as I killed them over and over, and how satisfied with themselves they were when they managed to get 1 kill on me. F*!kin' losers...

It usually has to do with Power Cuts. Other times I am just falling asleep on the controller because I spent more time respawning than shooting.

a character dying in fire emblem, incredibly frustrating, especially, since it reminds me of my own incompotence

I try not too, most of the time any quitting from me is because of disconnection. (but people still feedback me down for that, pisses me off) On a few occasions in Halo 3, I've quit when its like a 5 on 1, and I decided to take the XP hit so I could link up with friends that had just come online but usually I try not to quit because in most games they really hit you with a penalty (like Gears 2, its like 1000 XP for not finishing a match)

No. Any semi conscious player can break through that. Its camping demos. If you cant kill a pyro then you just suck.

I rarely ragequit in multiplayer games. Unless I've already been playing for hours and need to go do something else, then I might wait until after I die, so it might look like I ragequit.

But in singleplayer games, that's another story.

I love it when the opposing team camps our spawns, especially on 2Fort.
It means our team actually has to work together for once.

OT: I quit when I am not having a good time. If that is the case, simply leave the game, and find another.
I'm not going to spend my free time being pissed off.
