there appears to be people here with a mental age above 9. tho those who incessantly feel they need to point out when a thread has already been done really grate on my nerves.
It's one of the things the "old" crowd despise worse than anything, they like it if you contribute to an old thread, though some people don't like this as it isn't likely their opinion will ever be read.

From,

Hey Joe.
Because of the occasional gem like this. Where else can you read a wall of text that isn't just a rant, or a badly punctuated story. Well there are a few places. But none I can be bothered to look for, so I stick with you lot.

Actually, I don't really come here much any more except to see ZP. I used to read the site regularly when it was in its old magazine style format which I really enjoyed.

Z.P. brought me here but the forums is what kept me here.
*Yawn* What he said.
Yep this has been done before ages ago and I've already discussed it there.
Goodbyke.

I love the people here, and we can have intelligent discussions safe from fanboys, it's my little haven away from the rest of teh interwebxorz, and that's why I love the Escapist.

I like the feel of the community, fun but still maintaining the ability to hold intelligent discussions, without kids yelling Noob or u r gay every time you don't agree with them.
Precisely the reason I left the Gamespot forums... Maybe I'll create a rant about their mediocre stupidity someday when I'm famous like Decoy Doctorpuss.....

I also like the fact that the mods are awesome (read: very liberal with the banhammer and locks for people who don't think before posting)

If I don't Nylcipher will bundle me in a burlap sack, hit me a few times with his banhammer, throw me in the boot of his car, drag me back to Manchester, and hang me over the river Irwell by my ears.

I like it here because... it's closest thing to a place to discuss ideas that might actually spark evolution, thus giving me enough hope in humanity to live another day instead of SLITTING MY FUCKING WRISTS.

Yahtzee. And I wanted a popular gaming forum to join that was full of people with some sense of humor.

I like some of the debates we can have. You can get some serious issues like the feminism one a while ago, or to do with the consoles. But there's also a nice atmosphere about the place. Also, it's a good source for gaming news. That's how I first found the site ages ago. Then I thought I might as well sign up.

Here's a purpose to continue your existence: Abuse all the idiots you meet, making their lives a living hell. Only reason I go to school really.
