This entire thread seems populated by several points that prove me wrong, yet I will still speak my piece.
I am an English major. As such, my modus operandi is that of spelling and grammar. Sometimes, it's like a physical blow to read the posts people write in this language I've devoted myself to, and it's really a shame it has to be like this. When I found the Escapist, with the users so versed in the language, I don't feel like I'm bastardizing something I've devoted my adult life to study and know by talking to them. I don't even feel like it's too much effort at the end of the day. I sign off, completely content, that my day was at least wasted with people who weren't the cancer that is slowly killing my language. That, in and of itself, is a prideful "A+" sticker that I attach to this forum.
The Escapists, random internet users across the globe, I've felt comfortable enough with to call my friends. The sense of community here is such hat I really don't feel all the normal intellect shift that can normally be found when being studious in a group full of blind racists or young children. Instead, I've been pleasantly surprised to find all ages, and genders, so focused on intelligence and eloquence. It's very comforting to have that sense of community somewhere, and I'm glad it's with you gents.
In closing, it's a good place that goes out of it's way to be bearable at the minimum, and positively heart-lifting at the maximum, and usually never goes out of its' way to kick you while you're down...

I come here mostly out of habit now. I liked the old Escapist much more, but it was more of a niche site than it is now. It still has some great writing (some of the best, actually), but the popularity of the site has attracted a larger, younger crowd than I prefer. The price of fame, I suppose.

I had the same problem last night, though it was quickly resolved. There was a short discussion of how to improve the search funtion with more advanced search parameters rather than keyword only function. Searching titles only or topic tags would be a welcome addition. I'm sure in due time we'll see something implicated.jamanticus post=18.72672.769174 said:
