That...would actually be a pretty interesting variant.

Because it's been done better, with less advertisement so the fratboys and soccor moms (who shouldn't be buying these games for their 10 year olds anyway) flock to it. Though it does keep these same annoying people off good games like TF2 and Bad Company 2.

I'm just going to reuse an old post of mine for MW2.

"Most people hate it because it's a sequel which fails to meet the expectations set for it by the previous game. I personally thought it was also done in a sloppy manner with alot of obvious bugs, glitchs, and mistakes left in. Additionally it seemed to make use of lazy designs and/or animations. It's certainly not the worst game I ever completed (that honor is reserved for "Too Human") but it isn't one of the best either, it falls into the medicore middle class of failed gaming legends, right alongside Halo 3."

Now on an unrelated subject, were do you live?
Seem... Sorry, I always get that word wrong, but you want to kill me for misspelling one word?

And if I am not giving my name, why would I tell you where my house is?

Maybe as a varient, yes, but as for the normal game, not really.

Though I am claiming a copyright on the idea.

Well if you don't like it, you don't like it's not as though you are saying it to sound cool; you must be pathetic to do that, and more pathetic than that are the people who believe this really happens. There is no game that can be liked by absolutely everyone.

Umm...
I fucking love the game, actually.
And I don't even play it online.
EDIT: Awaiting Furbs comment so I can rage at him.

Well that's just, like, your opinion man.
Oh, believe me, he's going to be a lot more harsh.

I don't hate it myself, I find it OK and good to play with friends on local MP. Don't have LIVE so I can't comment on that.

My only regret is that I paid £35 for it. But when you see the shop you are buying it from selling MW1: GoTY edition for £45, you have to count yourself lucky.

The PC gamers though sound like they have a right to hate it if features which they are used to and enjoy using have been ripped out of it though. I know they took out the dedicated servers, whatever they are but I think IW did rip out some more stuff as well.
I actually played it on PC and, apart from the DS removal, didn't notice a single thing.

On the NDS it was called: Modern Warfare Mobilized. It was terrible.

OT: I have to buy the game to judge but since that's not going to happen any time soon... I can't give a full statement. I tried a bit of it before and it was pretty fun.

It's cool to hate it, along with Halo, Gears of War, religion and JRPG's. If you want to be loved even more then say you love TF2, Half Life and Portal.

While I am half joking it does seem that the above seems scarily accurate for a rather large amount of people on this site.
Except when you make a topic about it, then everyone joins your side. It's incredibly easy to change the minds of Escapists, they'll just say they were on your side all along.

Same reason a lot of people hate Nickelback, i think.

It isn't that they're the worst musicians ever, but that they don't even attempt to be innovative and are content to rest on their laurels and put out the same formulaic stuff over and over again.

I think people respect trying to be great and failing miserably, but they don't respect the success of those who never even make the attempt.

I love military shooters, Modern Warfare 2 included. My only complaint is that it was too short. That said, I still hate JRPGs.

Wrong seam/seem (by page 8, you'd know this already, but I like to complain)

OT: hyped/marketed as the biggest thing to happen to the universe since the big bang and/or God, turned out to be (as the internet expected) a fairly average shooter with an above-average number of explosions in the singleplayer and a healthy dosage of idiots, racists, spammers and bigots on the multiplayer

In short, everyone was expecting to be dissapointed and got their speeches ready for when they did. They they DID get dissapointed, as expected, and delivered their hate-speeches. Justly so, in my opinion, as this is the way the politiking of the internet works

I find it funny how you penalised him for poor literacy when you used the word "were" instead of "where".

Probably because it was surposed to be so much more than it actually was. Teaches me for boarding the hype train, destination disapointment.

It's just the many things that on a whole for me make it a pretty bad game. Community, story was weak, unrealistic (I wasn't expecting total realism but I also wasn't expecting impossible, dual shotguns, or any guns for example), bad map design, not that much different from CoD4 and in some cases a step back, bloody exspensive. You'd think for what you payed for the game you would get more out of it. Horrible amount of bugs, glitches, hacks etc. Lastly because it was so popular that people are just going to hate it anyway.
