Seriously guys? All these explanations seem a bit over complicated, the issues are that the first Modern Warfare was an exceptional game and MW2 was terrible in a lot of ways (No I am not going into why as they have all been posted) so even on it's own Modern Warfare 2 is a pretty awful game and compared to the original it looks even worse.
Why does everybody here seam to hate MW2?

Never played it, but war-time games have never appealed to me because they seem to try and get to "realistic" settings with "realistic" combat. While that MAY or MAY NOT be entirely true, I prefer to play games set in bizarre worlds or scenarios that allow me to escape from anything remotely resembling reality.

I play it on the pc, i think it is awesome. However i need to play it with friends sitting on voice chat for it to be fun. ^^ i do get pissed at noobtubes, deathsreaks (geting awarded for dying is stupid..) and perks like last stand, but still it is a pretty fun gamem, definitly worth the 60$. Oh and another issue can be lag, but that is usually all good if i play with friends, mostly end up with an everyone in the game having 4 bars then, ensuring a fair game til the tubes roll out. : p
edit: i'm still pretty pissed about it not beeing dedicated servers for pc tho, that is just pure bullshit. trying for 2-10 mins to find a game is pretty damn bad for a matchmaking system, and even then you'll probably get into a game where you insta lose. : p
Also yo all the people that get mad easily: go for BF:BC2, it is damn awesome, and it wont make your blood boil so often as MW2.

I don't know how people hate Team Fortress 2 multiplayer, but in terms of MW2 online, I simply find it boring and monotonous. Simple as that.
