We hate him not because he was wrong, but because he was wrong an inordinate number of times. He was wrong about the weapons, he was wrong about the war being over (remember the "Mission Accomplished" speech?), but he refuses to admit it.

Also, he's made a great number of choices that were unpopular with a majority of the US people. True, many presidents have had to make unpopular decisions, but at least their decisions helped the country in the long run. The war on terror was both unpopular and has managed to be one of the catalysts that led to the rotting of the United States Economy.

Thirdly, he is an idiot. People elected him because he seemed like "a guy you could have a beer with". I don't know about you, but I think a leader should be someone you can't have a beer with, someone who is smarter than the average citizen. Instead, we elected a guy who fell off a Segway and almost choked to death on a pretzel, and decided to wage a land war halfway across the world in direct opposition to the decision of the UN Security Council.

Either the man is an idiot or the greater actor ever, as a previous poster put it

I mean you'd have to be monumentally stupid to ignore a highly detailed memo saying that Al-Queada was going to attack the US imminently, but on the other hand you'd have to be an amazing actor to feign stupidity and disregard that memo just to let 3000 people die to get your approval ratings up and then finally get the wars you wanted.

Either way, the fact is that's why I will always hate him. He killed 3000 people through negligence or just being a shifty asshole (most likely the former but you play enough Deus Ex and you start to wonder).

Then there's Iraq. Remind me again why we lied about WMDs and a 9/11 link; Oh yes, oil and more money for Halliburton so Cheney can retire comfortably.

It outright disgusts me some of the unconstitutional acts this administration perpetrated (most of them involving disregarding the words "separation of church and state" and "national security", but nobody bothered to try and impeach them because nobody ever impeaches a Republican

except Nixon but apparently we all agreed he was a bastard.

The point is my mom sometimes says "poor Dubya" in a sympathetic way to the way things have ended up.

I have no sympathy for the man who pissed away everything this country had going for it into the 21st century (surplus, decent international relations, and not a gigantic and glaring obvious bipartisan split that continues to sunder this country and prevent it from moving forward)

Basically because he started a war that can never be won, responded so poorly to Hurricane Katrina, and put our economy in a soon to be depression.
Obviously, no offence

But, I've always wondered why Americans say that. Assuming that men did go there for oil, isn't that good? He is securing a national interest so that the U.S. can maintain the position of a superpower. If anybody want their barrel price to double or triple, go head, argue that people are dying in a war over there.

Bush is not the Emperor of The Imperium, he did not DIRECTLY cause the economic depression. Infact, it's the extremity of capitalism that allowed people to take advantage of the system. Sure, bailout wasn't a sucess, but government intervention is necessary in an unsteady economy.

Finally, you can say that rednecks (or whatever the group you want to identify) really wanted a conservative republican, but the fact is, America voted for him for 2 terms. Either Bush is really amazing at making himself look good, or else democracy isn't just what it used to be.

Bottomline, I personally feel way too many Americans blame their shit on Bush.

Looking for responses.

I think Carlos Mencia said it best.

"Bush may be a Dumbass, but he the smartest dumbass ever."

I might have the same one, here's Nov. 1

As much as I dislike Bush's administration, this thread is pretty juvenile. I guess The Escapist isn't the best place to get political, religious, or philosophical information (of course, why would it be?).

Like the posts where there's all of these supposed quotes by Bush. A lot of them never actually happened, but were made in satire by other organizations, which then led people to believe they actually happened. If you want to prove a president is incompetent look at their actions, not some quotes that could have easily been taken out of context or fabricated altogether. There's plenty of material to be had without making shit up.

The number one reason to despise Bush is that he tore apart foreign policy while simultaneously neglecting domestic policies. Basically, he's digging his nose in affairs that he need not to, while keeping his nose out of places that it could have been used. And no, I'm not talking about cocaine. *zing*

I will cut the man some slack... First he got elected then started to drive the country to the ground. then he got elected AGAIN, hes freaking magical, i mean hes smart enough to realize that the people who voted for him the first time would do it again...

People hate Georgie Jr because he is considered to be the absolute worst president we've ever had, he got us into two bloody, unnecessary wars, he failed to do anything about ANY of the issues that plague us, from arsenic in the water to the economy to poverty, and because the common consensus is that he's a complete idiot.

Does that answer your question? Can this thread be closed now?

no its not, theyre going to declare martial law tuesday morning. maybe tuesday evening JUST after the polls open, time zone by time zone. they DO have planet sized balls.

one lie gets them out of anything, and noone calls them on the fact that they never remember anything and if they are indeed that incompetent they should be executed for accepting such high posts.
the whole "department of justice" thing.
this is his VP, but he can SHOOT A MAN IN THE FACE WITH A SHOTGUN AND THEN MAKE HIM APOLOGIZE FOR BEING SHOT! im sorry, but isnt that sorta a negative role model outside of gang culture?

and again too angry to think coherently.

1001 nights were magic,
filled with amazing tales,
Ali-Baba and Aladdin,
Sinbad and his sailors,
but 935 fictions,
cut Scheherazade down to size,
many more nights in Arabia,
Thanks to 935 Lies [http://projects.publicintegrity.org/WarCard/]

Coupla hundred thousand Iraqi's,
said there early goodbyes,
Its a gift that keeps on giving,
Thanks to 935 Lies [http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/01/23/bush.iraq/]

Nine hundred and thirty five falsehoods,
told by our leading guys,
eyes of steel,
tongues of fork,
935 lies [http://www.mydamnchannel.com/Harry_Shearer/Music_Videos/935Lies_687.aspx]

Yeah, that about sums it up.

Well, I've been studying the Modern Middle East lately, and...
*heh, heh...*
Yeah...
The worst case of cultural insensitivity in the past few decades, worldwide.

I respect real Republicans, but trying to make the US into a particular brand of Christianity is unacceptable.
I really hate the whole mentality of that someone opposed to you makes them believe in the exact opposite.
No one likes abortion. It is horrible. It should never happen, ever.
BUT, most things in life should have never happened, either. It is a necessary evil.
Very much an evil...
According to statistics, I should be getting raped about now...

And the government system for orphans looks pretty bad in comparison to a painless elemenation of existence before one can even think.
