I don't everyone hates it. I just think people are realizing it's not the amazing console it was made out to be. Don't get me wrong it's an aweomse system that won't be replace for at least 10 years, but blu-ray is more common, and the game library can't keep up with the xbox, yet.

i think we should start a thread where people say why they bought one console over the other. i personally bought the PS3 because i had a large PS2, PS1 game library and i didn't want to have to pay for xbox live.

At first, I didn't buy one due to lack of games for it. Now, I've still not bought one, due to lack of games for it and loss of backward compatibility. Sticking with my PS2 for another year or so, 'til I run out of games to play on it.

That said, I don't hate the PS3. I just have no reason to buy one. I already have a DVD player, gaming consoles and a PC. You've really got nothing new to offer me, PS3.

I think its down to third console-itus.

The N64 was panned by pretty much everyone bar the Nintendo fans. I guess this is just SONY's turn to go through a spell of trouble. If FF13 doesn't help the PS3 then nothing will.

Its not a bad console by any means. Its just expensive and unproven. It has some strong first party games, yet the third party games appear to almost always be 'better' on the 360. Remember, this is an economic crisis right now. People do not have the money to spend on a PS3, especially if it consumes as much electricity as some studies have shown.

So I own a PS3 and it seems like it is getting shunned by the world of gaming. Everywhere I go there is always a Microsoft fan boy telling me how much the PS3 sucks. Don't get me wrong, I've met some PS3 fan boys and the are not any better, but why is the PS3 the scum of the universe? Maybe it is just demographics, or maybe I just don't know enough people. AND, why the f-sauce didn't they release an expansion for Fallout 3 on the PS3??????? Not cool. >.<
I've got a 80GB PS3 model and I really like it. Flower, Killzone 2 - my favourites at the moment. Don't be fooled - it's a very good console. Reliable, powerful, stylish looking... As for x360 - it has some really good games, but it's hardware sucks. And that's the problem.
BTW - my PSN id - Lord_Gremlin. Always glad to kick your ass, if you play as ISA, or assist you in ass-kicking if you play as Helghast)
As for Fallout 3 - Microsoft is way too rich. They just bribed Bethesda.) Fear not - soon PS3 will have an enhanced version of Ninja Gaiden 2. Former x360 exclusive)

i don't necessarily HATE the PS3, i'm just pissed that all those RPG gold mine titles aren't being released. Sony has their creative thumbs up their asses right now.

and on a side note, i feel like strangling that kid in the video. i couldnt stand more than 20 seconds before wanting to blow his head off.

I don't hate it, but it has no games that I care about, my SDTV makes the blue-ray player useless, too expensive, and I disagree with Sony's philosophy about it.

This is why people hate the PS3.
I don't know what too call them, but it's that sub group of gamers I despise. That guy can shove his poser attitude up his own ass.

There are more "good" games for Xbox
Sony overhyped the thing
its too expensive

Now PS3 has some games I wish were on Xbox but they wont be. I like my Xbox because its fun and PS3 just does appeal to me.

Theres a difference between good business sense and being selfish...
That's a rather sophmoric view. It's simple capitalism friend- business; it has nothing to do with emotion so don't attempt to decipher it that way.

i can afford a Ps3 and an Xbox 360 in my eyes the Ps3 is better, and i prefer the online, but the thing is they are my VIEWS, personally I don't really give a fuck what any of you think to be honest on which is better, which is shiny-er which is has a better game selection i dont care at all, Yahtzee said it brilliantly (i cant quote i cant remember it exactly) since most can only afford one you will all scream blue in the face that your chosen console is better, even those who dont probably have that Troll deeeeep inside of them, picking at them from the inside.

those who can get both will have friends, and preferences which will push their opinion one way or another.

What i want is one console for all, actually no i dont, thats like communism seems like a good idea but is terrible in practice.

"Ps3 has no games" is bullshit
too expensive? you can get them for 299.99 euros for gods sake, just save up a bit
and everyone over-hypes

im tired its 3 am i dont think i worded this right, or finnished it,ill come back in the day

I've still been unable to remove most of the biase against the Ps3 from this forum, although it ussually seems to come from newer people, and a few old assholes who dig in their heels.
This might be because you don't remove bias by calling people assholes or implying that console preference correlates with someone's intelligence? Just a tip here...

Oh, and anyone who thinks they can do without the Ps3, you officially have all opinions on games as art repealed.
Curiously enough, I'm not seeing you playing Jason Rohrer games or trying out Facade on the PC. Or checking out what the demoscene puts out every year. You know, guys who spend their time doing things like this [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNCqrylNY-0] amongst other things. If you care about games as art, you'd surely be trying those out.

The reason behind Operation Anchorage, The Pitt and Broken Steel not hitting PS3 are all the same as of why Haze never hit Xbox 360 and PC.

MONEY!

As already said before, the PS3 still haven't catched up to Xbox 360 in terms of good games and is still way more expensive. Xbox Live may cost, but it costs so little that it barely makes a mark in your wallet, it's so much better than PSN anyways.

$20(every 3 months) or $50 a year barely makes a mark on your wallet?

Sure, PS3 may have better junk in the trunk, but being able to make the games look better doesn't quite equal making them better or any such.

Oh and my biggest problem with the PS3 is the controller. It hurts so, so much in my hands that I can't play with it for more than 10 minutes at the most.
In terms of good games? That's quite a laughable statement there. I don't enjoy running down a whole list of games to prove a point but I'll just state a few GOOD games that have been RELEASED on the big black box of steel:

Metal Gear Solid 4: GotP
Killzone 2
LittleBigPlanet
Bioshock(you know, the updated better version?)
Warhawk
Uncharted
etc, etc. You know the rest if you own the console.

Now, how is XBL > PSN? I don't see the difference between the two besides ads and a larger community. In the long run my good sir, the XB360 is a more expensive console.

So, you lay down let's see.. $399 for an 80GB PS3 which is the same price as an XB360 Elite.
Or you can just buy a 40GB PS3 for around $220. Now when you make that purchase, I'll assume you purchased the arcade/core version which is $199, cheap eh? So, now you must purchase the HDD or the Xbox 360 60GB LIVE Starter Pack, which runs to about $100 (I rounded.)
So, PS3 40GB purchase is about $220+ (online shopping,) and... that's all. I'm sure a home with popular HD gaming devices has a few HDMI cables laying around, or an extra 10 bucks for another.

PS3 40GB: $220+ (plus the extra 10 for the HDMI cable, damn you Sony for using the standard AV. >_>)
PS3 80GB: $399 (same price as XB360 Elite)

XB360 Arcade: $199 or $200 (plus the two free games :D)
XB360 60GB starter pack w/ free 3 month LIVE service: $100

That's $300 you the consumer, have put down for Microsoft's cheapest XB360 model.

Cheapest console? Bullshit. The Wii is, even if it comes with a horrid list of shovel-ware.
