Why does Fox berate game designers constantly when their parent owns game companies?

Did anyone ever notice how Fox constantly goes after different game developers--BioWare, Gearbox, Rockstar, etc.--and yet their parent company, News Corp., is actively involved in the games biz? News Corp.purchased IGN in 2008, [http://corp.ign.com/articles/648/648836p1.html] bought out Kesmai in 1994, [http://www.giantbomb.com/kesmai-corporation/65-3748/] and has been actively involved in business ventures related to casual gaming [http://gaygamer.net/2011/02/murdochs_news_corp_getting_in.html].

Anyway, what do you guys think? It's funny, anyway, given their constant use of games as a scapegoat for social deviancy, as well as what some argue is their inadvertent promotion of the industry they appear to be so dead set against.

Probably the same reason they tried to seek legal action against the producers of the Simpsons (20th Century Fox - protip: themselves) for making fun of Fox News =p

Hey it's FOX, the second most ultimate troll in the world, (second only to Gainax) do you expect them to listen to actual evidence or logic?

They wouldn't be so awesomely wrong if they did

I say Fox News is the ultimate troll. And this is coming from a conservative.
As much as it pains me to say it, conservative doesn't have to equal idiot, which is all Fox News and its audience consists of.

There's an apt John Stuart Mill quote for this. "Although it is not true that all conservatives are stupid people, it is true that most stupid people are conservative."

Haha, I'll remember that one.

Money. Well, controversy, which equals money. Controversial subjects equal ratings, ratings equal cash and sponsors.

This wouldn't be the ifrst or last time Fox News attacked their parent corps' own interests.

It shouldn't have to pain you. There was a time we could differ ideologically without calling people Hitler or commies.

Well, not in MY family, but somewhere....

That's the last time I ever go on IGN.

OT: Fox...hoy.

Fox is just fishing for controversy. Controversy=viewers=ratings=

They're ignorant and greedy. A dangerous combination.

Because they're not going to lose any money over it. The kind of people who watch FOX are already anti-gaming, they just want new scapegoats to get angry about.

"This just in, Obama to blame for everything from the Socialist menace to the Taliban!"

Yeah, Fox is 99.9 percent wank and the 0.01 percent not-wank are weather reports... says it all, really. Also, yes I made up a statistic on the spot... they might appreciate the sentiment.

Based on this, my guess is that they are trying to get parents to switch their kids over to Farmville style games

Fox News is made of whores. People like conflict yet hate being blamed themselves.

Fox News takes advantage of this by constantly blaming other things for violence, as humans can't possibly have anything to do with it.
