Why does Shia LaBeouf keep getting acting gigs?

I don'ty like him so mc in "Leading Man" rolls but the first transformers and disturbia had him more as the awkward nerd than the charismatic leading man. I flat-out refused to watch the second transformers flick so maybe they tried to turn him tougher or prettier bu that's one flick cut the kid some slack.

I don't know. I thought his performance in the movies I've seen him in was fairly decent. I don't really know enough about how the film industry works, so again as I said in another thread, I'm not going to make an ass of my self by talking about something I know nothing about. If I were to hazard a guess, I would say because there was no one else available who was suitable for those roles, or he has a very good agent.
Oh goody, a crappy-looking sequel to a 23 year-old, pretty good but overrated movie.
As far as Shia... eh... he's one of many in a long list of befuddling "it boy" leading men.

They're handsome in a generic, non-threatening way, and they're annoying enough to make guys think they really would run like a girl, but not annoying enough (at first) to make guys want to stay away.
Why this guy seems to be taken seriously by good directors (and no, I don't mean Michael Bay) should be obvious from where he got his start.

Shia LaBouf, if we assume he has any talent, suffers from what I call "The curse of being discovered by Disney."
Anyone who gets discovered by Disney gets typecast to death. It just always happens, but that's only half of the curse. Not only do they get cursed with being badly typecasted, but because they were involved with Disney, they are cursed to forever have a career playing that same shitty part.
Unless you're discovered as a young girl, then the curse ends as you graduate from high school and you never work in Hollywood again.

Exactly, before Transformers he was in many good films. Such as I Robot, Constantine, Disturbia (Eagle eye was kinda lame) and the new Indiana Jones. (Come on people it wasn't as horrible as you think) The dude started out with Disney films and managed to escape the companys grasp. I've seen Transformers 1 & 2, Constantine, I Robot, Indy IV and most of Disturbia. Anyone got a youtube link of him acting well. I've seen no evidence so far. Of course the people saying he's a good actor seem also to be liking the Transformers films - so, er, yeah. Bay has done at least one good film (The Rock) and I quite liked Bad Boys I and II, but those two CGI blur fest were boring.
(PS I mean comparatively, I can't act, but I don't try to).

OT: i think shia does a decent job. i was worried when i heard he was cast for Transformers but after watching i didnt mind him. Now, Jayden smith (will smith's kid) i CANT STAND HIM! his definition of acting is whining and whining some more.
