I think this is the general idea. People already have perception of it (see that god awful anime parody on GTA IV). They usually only see it as that way with no variation: big-titted girls in skimpy outfits fighting in giant robots with seizure inducing (and cheap) backgrounds or something.RatRace123 said:I don't like anime, and it's mainly because I don't watch it. I don't go out of my way to find the mature complex stuff, my only experience with it comes from occasionally stumbling on episodes of Naruto aired on Cartoon Network, I usually watched a minute of it before changing the channel in disgust.
Probably not the best representation for decent anime, believe it.
Since people usually view it as that they think that only mouth-breathing basement dwellers can enjoy that sort of thing. Since they don't want to be viewed as a basement dwelling mouth breather, they avoid it like the ebola virus. No one wants to be an alpha-nerd. Same thing with D&D (not that I play it, just an example).
I watch like, but lately I've been dling more than watching. Of course there are things I dislike about it: 20 girls wet for some random guy with no personality, shit that's all ecchi and no substance, sometimes serieses go on for way too long, and other reasons probably (sometimes serieses are just stupid or repulsive).
