I started doing weed a few months ago, and apart from nearly falling bear-arsed onto some broken glass, ive had a pretty good time doing it. I find its better than getting drunk because it doesnt give you a hang-over and being high feels alot better than being drunk.

And That is my opinion... And my opinion is that some drugs are bad. I do lots of drugs but there are some I would never do because I am of the opinion that they are bad.

So the reason that I don't do (Certain) drugs is that in my opinion, they are bad.
And I think that is the reason for everyones stigma towards drugs. Their opinion.
And as much as you want to try, it is almost impossible to change someones opinion over the internet.

You say it's your opinion a lot, but I have the feeling it's just what you have been told and not actually got anything first hand to base this opinion on.

I don't do drugs because I've already done them. Don't feel the need to any more.

Why buy weed when you can buy MUCH more beer?

If your talking weight alone then yes you'd get more beer because it weights heaver. However for £20 I can get high every day and night of the week or out of my tiny little mind for 3 days with less side effects and no hangovers.

I don't drink because my parents are alcoholics. I have seen how they can act, and I don't want to do that to people I care about.

You used to hang around with your mates all the time then get your girl then just ditch them all and spend all your time with her?

Oh. In that case, no. I used to hang out with my pals maybe once a week.
Then I went off to college, and my girl was there too, so I was with her all the time, and my friends were at other colleges.
So when I come home, I try to go back to the once a week thing.

Because I don't want to. There's no reason for me to start up an extremely addicting self destructive habit. And also, I hate the smell of weed. I don't want to spend a bunch of money trying to get weed so I can be relaxed for a while. If I want to be relaxed, I'll go take a nap or play a video game or go see a movie. But I also hate cigarettes and alcohol... again, because it's addicting and cigarettes make you and everything you're around smell awful.

And when you're my age, the only people who do drugs are the wannabe tough guy kids who just do it to show off and tell people they did it. I really don't want to be associated with such a group.

I did drink back during my days that life looked bad, and I used to with my current girlfriend, but she's trying to stop completely so I'm doing that with her for support.

I tried pot once, didn't care for it.

After that, I just saw recreational drugs (Except caffeine! All hail Pepsi!) as worthless to me. I've seen firsthand and at many times what trouble it brings in the ends, and how it tears things apart. I find people I know who do pot to be utterly complacent in their lives, and that bothers me, as I think we should all do what we can to better humanity as a whole.

Bottom line, I gain strength from more cleanly and free places. I've been knocked on my ass many times in life, but instead of breaking or turning to something else, I recollected myself and got stronger because of it.

One question, would you consider everyone who does illegal drugs to fall into this category, or just users with no self-control?

Not everyone, but I do look down upon anyone who uses drugs (including alcohol in larger quantities, cigarettes not so much because they don't seem to affect your mind so much) on a regular basis.

Of course I have been told. But I have also seen the effects of some drugs on my friends. Some of hese effects are things I never want to experience. But the real point I was trying to make was not my what my opinion was. But that it was my opinion that causes me not to do these drugs and that it is the opinion of everyone that makes them do/not do drugs. The OP said he would post counter arguements or something and I was just trying to point out that it would be extremely difficult to make them change their opinion.

I've tried marijuana but I've never been drunk enough that I lose recollection of what happened last night. I don't plan on getting drunk and probably won't because I get a massive headache and a burning rash before I even get to the point of intoxication (it has been found out that I don't have this reaction to Champagne).

As for marijuana it was more out of curiosity, since all my friends were wealthy it was easy to come by in my friendship group and you could pretty much expect a night out for a game of poker to turn into a few joints all around.

Also I consider myself a bit more responsible than most people because of my parents and hence even when given total freedom of choosing to smoke weed, drink all day with my ridiculous allowance I get from my parents I still manage to drink safely and manage to save a few grand for myself. Alcohol can get expensive when you know how to drink.
