Well, we can start here. Every console is sold at a loss (with the exception of the Wii, of course).Matthew Jabour said:at least they were smart enough to keep the price down (even if it means selling at a loss) as opposed to $500!
So, any counter-arguments?
Second, you say Nintendo has a 'brain and heart'... well they have a heart. But they pretty much shot themselves in the foot with the Wii because after the motion control fad faded away they pretty much had no audience left. Not the touchscreen gimmick if pretty much failing in comparison to the motion control gimmick.
Also, Nintendo really needs a new IP. Just like motion controls, they are now riding on the success of Zelda/Mario/Metroid to sell systems but I don't see that working at all. I know MS and Sony don't have a lot of new IP but considering they make up for it with 3rd party support which Wii U lacks terribly Nintendo has the burden of giving us the IP that nobody else will, something that they have been very reluctant to do for the last decade or so.
Anyways, as anyone who has seen what I've posted on the subject of consoles before, I am a PC gamer. I don't run around and bash people who don't play on PCs but I just don't see anything Xbox and PS offer that I can't get cheaper and better on PC, but the Wii U is the exception. If Nintendo steps up with making new IP than I MIGHT buy a Wii U this gen, everything else I couldn't even give a shit about.
