Why is rape or even just sex worse than death?

I think rape kinda gets a bad press. A recent study showed that at least 50% of people involved in a rape enjoyed the experience, in this respect it is much like Marmite. You can tell by the slogan that the Marmite people know that you can't please everyone, and there's wisdom in that. Really...a 50% hit rate isn't bad.

In seriousness, we have strange views on sex in general. Boobs require a higher age-certificate than brain-matter in media...go figure. I would without question rather be raped than killed. I don't mean to devalue the impact of being raped...but if you're killed it's just over.

And I believe there IS a law, it's called self-defense, if he hits you first, you're within your legal right to punch him back....

And saying something terrible is justifiable casually like you say, is like saying 'Well rape is fine - because the kid of the knocked up lady could be some genius who'll cure cancer!
I don't care what the cost is - murder is murder! If it's a psychopath killing some poor innocent man, or the legal system ordering an execution. In the end you're cutting someones life short! There's no worse price after that. You're simply taking away and stopping that person ever doing anything again.

People seem to misunderstand, I'm not justifying rape and saying it's fine but at least that person has a chance to live on, maybe not as well as they did before - but in nearly every case but a few (such as agonizing pain and the like but that really would be off topic) cutting a life short can't be worse!

Yes - it CAN be justifiable in extreme cases, but it'd have to be pretty extreme - such as where other lives are threatened. If some nut is pointing a gun at someone Else's head - YES they should be killed then before life can be lost, that is logic - you're saving the other guy. I think you get my point, and I think this conversation is at an end.

Except you're not a lawyer and you have no idea how the world works.

I am saying that the Communist Republics of Europe hate self-defense.

Sentenced to life imprisonment. The burglars shared almost 60 convictions between them. The one who survived got 3 years. Such is life in Europe.

Death is not terrible.

It can range from peaceful to violent, painless to painful. We accept death - it just brings the inevitable closer.

Rape is always terrible.

Murder is the unlawful killing, with malice aforethought, of another human
When it's self-defense, it's not unlawful and it doesn't involve malicious intent. It's not murder.
