A: Its wonderful graphics and gameplay.
B: Its an FPS that's actually different.
C: It's fun to play.
The kicker: It was released by 3DMark. Thats a very exclusive market.

Personally, I think it looks boring.
Blah blah blah "respect opinion" yadda yadda etc...

Did you only see that trailer though? Because the one the OP had was a lot more action packed.

Obviously lack of promotion is what does it. But I think the real reason is it's a Steam exclusive and one cannot buy it in stores, and if they are like me they hate DRMs.
is steam a DRM now? I didnt think it really qualified - although it does prevent piracy, albeit without running any malware in the background.
Primarily, it's certainly not simply a distribution model, because if it was, it wouldn't be required to run games that are distributed on discs, like Half Life 2.
Steam is realistically no different from X-box Live, apart from Steam is free (to use, not buy from obviously).

It does look damn epic... I might get it. Ages in the future, once Christmas has ACTUALLY BEEN FORGOTTED for one or two goddamn months.
You need Vista (are you willing to make that sacrifice?)

A game turns on noclip permanently and it's suddenly the most important multiplayer shooter of our time?

We are a sad generation...

I've kinda played it and it bores me, a lot.

Its basically a really scaled back, lame and tame version of Unreal Tournament with all the fuck sucked out and replaced with ew. I wouldn't waste my jizz on it.

"Good people of Cyrodil! Welcome to the arena! It's the Blue Team versus the Yellow Team in a battle to the death! Combatants... begin!"

But seriously... meh. I'm just underwhelmed overall. The gravity aspect just seems gimmicky to me, and being both download and multiplayer only are two huge no-nos in my book. Oh, and it's a bunch of people fighting over barren grey rock... yippy.

Well, you need a DirectX10, DirectX10 capable GCard, 64bit OS, so I think a lot of people don't meet the requirements. I probably woulda given it a go if I didn't need to upgrade to vista/7.
Me too... I saw it when it was released and was fairly interested until I found out that you need DirectX 10 ergo Vista or Windows7 to run it.

I have no interest in "upgrading" my PC from XP to an OS that's utter shit for gamers (Vista) or an OS that's new & unproven (Windows7).

Except if you buy an XBox game you don't have to register it on XBox Live and it isn't permanently tied to that XBox Live account.

Yeah I'm most likely going to get this when I get Windows 7 64 bit. I would have gotten it before, but obviously it is a DX10 only game.

You keep telling yourself that, and I'll keep having fun playing games on PC.

Apart from that small detail, they're very similar though.
