Why isn't everyone wetting themselves over shattered horizon?

Obviously lack of promotion is what does it. But I think the real reason is it's a Steam exclusive and one cannot buy it in stores, and if they are like me they hate DRMs.

is steam a DRM now? I didnt think it really qualified - although it does prevent piracy, albeit without running any malware in the background.

Primarily, it's certainly not simply a distribution model, because if it was, it wouldn't be required to run games that are distributed on discs, like Half Life 2.

Steam is realistically no different from X-box Live, apart from Steam is free (to use, not buy from obviously).

I've kinda played it and it bores me, a lot.

Its basically a really scaled back, lame and tame version of Unreal Tournament with all the fuck sucked out and replaced with ew. I wouldn't waste my jizz on it.

But seriously... meh. I'm just underwhelmed overall. The gravity aspect just seems gimmicky to me, and being both download and multiplayer only are two huge no-nos in my book. Oh, and it's a bunch of people fighting over barren grey rock... yippy.

Well, you need a DirectX10, DirectX10 capable GCard, 64bit OS, so I think a lot of people don't meet the requirements. I probably woulda given it a go if I didn't need to upgrade to vista/7.

Me too... I saw it when it was released and was fairly interested until I found out that you need DirectX 10 ergo Vista or Windows7 to run it.

I have no interest in "upgrading" my PC from XP to an OS that's utter shit for gamers (Vista) or an OS that's new & unproven (Windows7).
