Many of the bosses on Peace Walker.

Had to spend 40 minutes on some of them

Ulkair in Dawn of War 2 Chaos rising. Not only does he have an obscene amount of HP, the Space Marine AI is particularly dim. Honestly, who melee's a tank when they have a perfectly good missile launcher equipped? (and by melee I mean actively run up to a tank even though it was in range to beat it with the end of said missile launcher)

I don't think we're talking about the same thing here.

The Primogen in Turok 2 Seeds of Evil. It took me 7 years (not constant play) to kill it.
Mine was quite similar. The final boss in Turok 1 (Think his name is the Campaigner or something like that) stands out in my mind as annoying, hard to kill bosses. Sure, the gun you collected the pieces to help, but on anything harder than normal he was a beast to kill.

Elizabeth. Greene. Blargh. She wasn't even that hard, just long. And yes, I know there's an obvious joke there. Don't say it.
I agree. It wasn't even so much about how dangerous she was, it just went on and on and on. It was insane, one giant monster surrounded by about a million other things all shooting at me all at the same time in the hundreds and every single time I think I've brought her down she comes back up again.
Man, I died a lot. As anyone would.

Also in Mass Effect 2 on Grunt's loyalty mission I came across an unkillable Varren. It was some kind of glitch that made it continue to survive no matter how many shots I fired at it. The next round would not continue as long as it was alive and it wouldn't die. It was just cornered in one place being shot, burned, frozen, zapped, Collector beamed and so many other ways to kill it.
Nothing worked.

Man, screw Garrus, Tali, Mordin, Miranda, Jacob, Legion, Grunt, Samara, Jack, Thane, Zaeed and Kasumi... all anyone needs is that one freaking Varren.

I don't know about you guys, but the Corn Boss in Castle Crashers always pissed me off. I always used to play as like a full melee/defense guy, so I couldn't even stop the damn thing from moving! Plus, the painter boss always gave me a seizure, so I couldn't look at the screen for over like 10 seconds. Catchy boss music, though. Also the elite four in FireRed/LeafGreen also pissed me off.

Baal in Diablo II. He was easy as hell(no pun intended), but very irritating. What was most annoying was he's copy ability. I would beat on one of he's copies just find out he's standing in a corner laughing at me for being so f*cking stupid. He took me forever. And when I'm done I realize that just the first difficuty setting.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately:

The problem is less that Gideon is so hard (seems easier than Roxy, except you really mess up in the second fight) actually, but that usually by the time i reach the third fight, i've lost all my lives (the fights involving the android girls beforehand often makes me lose enormous amounts of HP thanks to cheap attacks) and even with an E-Tank equipped, i get still attacked often enough so that i die just before i defeat Gideon (although he already flashes orange

But i didn't know the Thing about his invunerability, should be useful.
Oh in that case:

For Gideon's second form:Once you make it to the clouds (obvisously)pick up the Sword of Love before getting to Gideon then when the fight starts move to the far right just past the blue collum and little below it and you should be a spot that boss next to never hits with any of his attacks. I can't think of a great tactic for the Albertas[aka the robot girls] though been a bit since I played.

Grrrr, Sword and Axe from Prince of Persia Two Thrones. I hated those cunts. The whole game was a cakewalk apart from their fight.

Ulkair is such a pain in the ass. All my marines kept dying, all exept Thule the Dreadnought, so I had to repair Thule, and go summon more from a beacon nearby about 5-7 times, not very difficult, but VERY annoying.

I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned, but has nobody here played dwarf fort recently?

Forgotten beast, made of water. It had no internal organs or anything of the sort and killed EVERYTHING.

What? No one mentioned Leviathan from Dead Space yet?!

Seymour in FFX (The encounter at the mountains). GOD FREAKIN' DARNIT, these three take forever to drop (at least for me) >_<
Leviathan in Dead Space is the Final boss right? I never had an issues with those 2 The Air purifier boss in Dead Space was the toughest boss for me in that game what with it's limited window of being vulnerable and massisve attack range.

Seymour only killed me one time in that fight then When I went for round 2 I took off the kid gloves and hammered him without restraint on rare itmes i might of had. (At least I think that's what happened)

I can't believe I beat the game before finding out I could switchout dead chars for living back up ones.

I guess you haven't heard of Pandemonium Warden of FF: XI

Of course it's been nerfed since.
