We Americans have been killing Nazis since before our involvement in World War 2 even started, and we haven't quit since. We kill them in books, movies, and of course video games. We Americans have been programmed to hate and want to kill Nazis for over 60 years, I'm just starting to wonder if we'll ever tire of it?

I don't think so. I mean I'm sure people will always say "Oh why can't we stop with the freaking Nazi killing already?" But they have been made into a universal enemy, and with good reason. Sure they may get boring, but their gonna be around for a while.

I think XD

Eventually. They're just the most obvious personification of evil, it makes them an easy target. Most of the popular war games have moved away from Nazi-killing this year, though I dunno if Black Ops will stay exclusively post-WWII.

I got tired of them somewhere around Medal of Honor: Allied Assualt. Benn killing them since Wolf3d but just like the "standard fantasy setting" any enemy gets old after a couple games/encounters

We like the idea of killing people who want to commit genocide....

Why would we get tired of it?

It was one of the greatest moments in our nations history
We'll be killing Nazis until the end of time, and then about 8 minutes past that

Well that, and they're just so much fun to kill.

No, because they are Nazis. That's like asking "Don't you ever get tired of killing pedophiles?"

[sub]If there actually was a game that let you kill pedophiles, I'd buy it just to say I killed a bunch of pedophiles today.[/sub]

It's the only time in history the U.C was waging a war on somebody as big of a villain as themselves.

They won't let us forget what 'heroes' they are any time soon.
Why did you put heroes in quotations?

NEVAR!!! I WANT MY SCALPS!!!

*ahem*

Nazi's, like any other enemy, get boring after a while. And to me they have been boring.

Let's get creative and get some Flaming Penis Monsters in some games, why don't we?

U.C.? Can I assume you mean the U.S. Since we are talking about the US right now.

I have to say what an ill informed comment that is, you really think the US is as evil as Nazi Germany, or current country for that matter. Kudos for how delusional that idea is. I'm not sure I could top that on my most crazy day.

One day our society will probably get so pathetically politically correct that there will actually be an Anti-Nazi Defamation League protesting the depiction of its political ideology in games or movies. ><'

Still, I don't even really think of it as killing Nazis. Maybe because I don't see any difference between the average (key word being average) soldier on any side of a conflict. They're all just people being sent to fight by the ruling class of their homeland, regardless of whether they share the same political ideals. [/overly political comment]

Seriously, though, I think the only time the term 'Nazi' entered my mind while playing CoD5 was in the Nazi Zombie mode, and even then I was more focused on the zombie part. They could be replaced with any generic enemy combatant and the experience would be the same for me. I guess we're all just desensitised to Nazis, the same way we are to robots and zombies and 'terrorists'. Game developers go with them because they require the least thought on our part, by which I mean we're more likely to instantly accept them as the enemy without questioning their motives, right?
