Edit: Sorry for my grammar and stuff.. :(
I guess you could carry that on to say that people are open to abuse them because they are either Peter Mollinue or Microsoft?

I'm happy with my Vista.

From what I've seen of it (not a lot), I don't really see much difference.
So am I. The only problem is that its needs memory space like a pig.

11 GB for WoW? WTF?
Meh, I have a 200GB harddrive.

Meh, I have a 700gb hardrive.
Meh, I have all the GB. All of them.
Ladies And Gentlemen, may I introduce a computer fan's penis size contest!

Hehe... I jest.

OT - I feel that Vista just wasnt the right OS for me, boy was I tempted when it first came out, I mean... it was sparkly and new. Alas, I didnt get it, I looked online and found that with lower end computers, Vista was almost a death sentence. It was supposed to be smooth and cleaner than XP but it just didnt. It was nearly there, but the tweaks it needed were so ingrained in the OS that it couldn't be done.

Hence, Windows 7, It's slightly better. It's not a revolutionary product, it's not a flop, it's a step in the right direction for Windows.

I've played around with it on a friends computer. It's okay I suppose. I honestly don't see that much of a difference between it and Vista other than some extra aesthetic flairs. other than that it is a big giant whatever to me. Vista wasn't terrible in the first place, I'll just stick with what I got until they decide to start making games that need something special you can only get on Windows 7.

Windows 7 under the hood is a lot better than vista. It utilizes memory much more efficiently (even though its nowhere near as efficient as unix based systems) and it dynamically unloads services which aren't being used.

It's a poor attempt to copy the MAC OS. Definitely not a revolution as MAC did it first. So flop it is.

It's probably the best OS Microsoft has made. I'm definitely upgrading soon.

It's a very good competitor against Mac's.

Sorry you've judge the entire OS on the fact that some of it's visual cues are taken from someones else OS and judged that it fails based purely on the fact that it doesn't quite match it?

Have you actually USED the OS or have you decided that it fails because it's from MS and it's well known that all the cool kids hate MS, especially when they have just released a new OS?

Got my copy cheap as I pre-ordered it and it is actually faster in day to day tasks than my tweaked copy of XP. As for the question, well the question is flawed. The changes over Vista are not significant enough to declare that 7 is a revolution it is an EVOLUTION on Vista. Saying that it managed to force me away from XP so maybe it is a revolution!

I don't know if it's a flop, but it's most definitely not revolutionary. What's new in 7 is only new to Windows: Mac's had it all since 2001.

Its pretty much everything vista should have been, and more. Vista has its fair share or problems but 7 does an impressive job of fixing these issues and making a far more stable OS which is a lot more helpful. Even things like the taskbar setup with the previous history on all the pinned apps is handy.

I'd recommend it to anyone, regardless of their current OS.

Hell, I actually agree with this. Vista is pretty much Mac OS without the user-friendly interface, and 7 gets a lot closer but keeps the same aesthetic.

But yeah. 7 is a good OS (I still prefer XP though) but it's hardly revolutionary.

Why do you still prefer XP over 7 though? I can't see personally what advantage XP has over 7 anymore apart from perhaps the legacy support of older programs and games as the comptability support in 7 isn't exactly perfect, though the "free XP license key" that comes in the form of a virtual PC is a nice touch.

vista just gets a bad rap, why they rushed Windows 7 onto store shelves

i personally haven't had any issues with vista

It's really the interface. Vista and 7 just feel... wrong to me, like they're sort of clunky while XP is smooth and seamless. Plus, like you said, it runs everything. Thirdly, I'm used to it.

I upgraded from Win XP Pro x32 to Win7 Ultimate x64 and so far its been fine, and I like the look and being able to utilize that little extra amount of RAM I couldn't use before on my 32-bit system. I like the general style of it, though I really dislike the taskbar, especially the absense of quick-launch and the way it just kind of bundles everything together down there with no indication of what's actually OPEN and what is just a SHORTCUT. Confusing, weird design choice. :/ The backwards-compatibility is better than I thought it would be too.

If you were eligible for a free upgrade, I recommend it 100%

It surprisingly doesn't take me an hour to move 5 GBs from one folder to the next.
Nor does it eat all my memory <.<
I don't know if you're implying that it takes that long to transfer files in vista or not, but I feel the need to point out that since I've been using vista (which is since pre-release 2) I've been transfering large files (>30gb) across hard drives and they rarely take longer than 5-10 minutes. If it's taking that long you might have something wrong with your hdd.

Idiots idiots and more idiots...

I'm starting to hate my fellow PC gamers and can only facepalm when see every god damn game is reviewed on a console, because that's what gamers are these days.. And the only people left that plays on a PC are people who plays MMORPG's..

Once a uppon a timen, an extremely thick (but unfortunately well respected) person expressed that Vista sucks and then the whole worlds population agreed by the help of Macs propaganda ("Hi I am a Mac" "-And I am a PC").
Also Vista gained a bad reputation because of a bunch of lausy, arrogant, cheapskate people who had a PC that came with Windows 98, upgraded to XP and then believed that it would be perfectly fine to ignore the several warnings about minimum requirements Vista has and act all surprised when it runs slower than advertised.

"Gamers" also have a habbit of thinking that just because they spend 8 hours a day, in front of a computer, they actually know anything about. Fx: An idiot who keeps XP installed over all these years, justifying it with excuses that Vista is bad but in truth his computer only barerely meets the recommended requirement and he suddenly can't play his very very very old game he spends 8 hours a day with.
This tendency spreads and now for every thing that goes wrong people just say; "LoL Vista sucks"
Even if the problem isn't even slighty related to what OS you have.

I'm not saying that Vista is flawless... But Windows 7 = Vista + 5% and it isn't called Vista. The fact that it isn't called Vista makes people more open minded for it.

It's like Fable & Fable II, same stuff with few extra tweaks and improvements.

Edit: Sorry for my grammar and stuff.. :(
That's about what I'm expecting, and pretty much sums up my opinions of vista (though I suppose I saw XP for how terrible it truly was, after that failure I was prepared for the absoloute worst with vista).
