Xenogears, this time with a proper second disk.

Also, I'd really like to see the original Kid Icarus redone.

Battletoads. Hard being the easiest difficulty and then they just add harder ones.
Todays gaming generation wouldnt be able to pass the first level...

A proper Perfect Dark
legend of Zelda remade into 3D, akin to twilight princess visuals
A new Donkey Kong 64 game
Blast Corps
Mario 2 remade into 3D would be pretty funny
Kung Fu

I would buy every one of those were they revamped for this generation.

I be intrested in seeing a spew of old point and click adventures be on the console. Just would be a load of fun to see something like Day of the Tenticles for a cheap price (say 300 or credits on XBL) just for the sake that I double anyone would do it. At a cheap price like that a point and click adventure games might get the proper light of day they deserved. Though I completely agree with BattleToad simply cause I had so much fun stuggling at that game.

You know, I think here you run into a quandary that developers have already found -- see how much the Sonic game sucked when they changed to 3D? That's because Sonic was a side scroller at heart. It's like removing the jetpacks from Tribes, or making Gears of War an MMO.

Devs will usually try to make something new and innovative, but it's only rarely that they do it right, because the classics were a combination of stuff that worked -- if they weren't, they wouldn't be classics. So if you change what worked... you've run into a grey area there.

Besides, would you rather have a 'new' Baldur's Gate in 3D, or the same ol' game expanded with the same ol' memorable isometric graphics? :\

There's a lot, but since I had long explained posts about this in other threads, I'll just do a list of things that don't have guaranteed sequels right now.

-Descent
-MDK
-Shenmue (It still needs a sequel.)
-Jagged Alliance
-Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri
-Star Control
-Space Hulk
-CyClones
-Earthsiege
-Sunset Riders

A lot of other games have sequels announced (Doom, Starcraft) or sequels have already been made (and they sucked (MOO)).

And a bunch of things I can't think of.

A lot of the things that I'd vote for ARE still ongoing or have been remade recently - with varying success. Fallout, starcraft, diablo. Baldur's Gate inspires games like KOTOR and mass effect (though they don't touch it) and of course NWN. Deus ex gets a third soon which I am dubious about.

Hell, all I'd like is a really solid 2D platformer. A re-release of x-wing wouldn't go down too bad either.

You know it is not an old game but I would really like to see Shadow of Colossus on next Gen. It was so good on the last gen, but I always got the feeling that the developers were limited by the hardware. And the scope/atmosphere of that game was amazing. The only way you could improve upon it would be to update the graphics and sound. Can you imagine a SoC with graphics on par with Killzone 2? It would make an awesome game even greater.

If they remade Perfect Dark (as it was on the N64) with better graphics I'd be all over it.

I'm not gonna reach too far back here, but Goldeneye and Starfox for the N64. Also I can't wait for Diablo 3.

definately Croc: Legend of the Gobbos and dungeon keeper now those are games i would like to play again
You're right on the money, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos was the best!

I've seen a bunch of people say they'd like to see Half Life 1 remade, but aren't they doing that? Some independent game developers are making one, I think it's called Black Mesa : Source or something?

X-Com i would love to see a redone, particularly X-Com apocalypse. given how disappointing the UFO games ended up.
