Hume layed down and watched as the younger pups played together and the older ones gathered around the newbie hunter, our young recently dead pup. He was regailing them about how he had "beaten back death and nearly ripped every limb off of his attacker", the fallen Sev.
Inside, Hume was still angered at this fact and he wasn't alone. The entire pack had the air of rage at this insult. Killing the pup would have been a tragedy but EATING HIM was cause for them to go out and murder him and everyone around him...at least, it would be in the old pack. Hume had come to realize that his old pack was much more vicious than his new one. With them, if one of the pack was injured then everyone avalible would go out and exterminate the nearest group that they assumed the attacker belonged to, after all if there's a human hiking nearby, wouldn't you assume that he was a part of the nearest town of humans? In this pack though, they would get angry about one of them being injured but would focus more on defending their own then seeking vengance.
This though, went beyond just being injured and even then, they would only kill the fallen who did this, not blaming the entire group for what happened, especially after learning from the alpha about how another fallen had revived the pup.
Hume stood up then. He wasn't as accepting of this as everyone else. He felt that it was unnatural to accept that they would attack this one person, when so many had invaded their territory and treated them like kindly beasts. He felt that they should teach invaders why they own the forest, just like the humans and fallen own their little towns.
That little bit of him from the old pack just wouldn't die. He knew he shouldn't do or even think anything like that. The forest was everyone's, not just the Wolven'sand noone had a claim to it, something the Wolven have shown others many times before, even their own.
Still, the fire in his heart that wanted revenge wouldn't burn out so he decided to go for a walk through their territory, hoping that a walk would cool it.
