Plus most game where one of the phrases dances around the template of "You are the chosen one" or "only you can do this task" Far too common
Argh! Urgh! I hate that!

'Love' in any way, shape, or form. It's a shame really, because there are actually a few decent games with 'love' as a theme, but mostly I stay away.

And by a few, I mean two.

(Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and Mask of the Betrayer if you're wondering)

"Why do I have to save the world?"

"Because destiny says so"

Really game writers? Thats the best you can come up with?

pisses me THE FUCK OFF.
DICE... GET RID OF THAT LINE
Oscar Mike is a genuine phrase, it means On the Move in the NATO Phonetic alphabet
Isn't it?
Yes, but that doesnt make it any less cringeworthy when we hear it every five minutes.
thank-you.

Modern Warfare 2 had a big one. Shepard says something along the lines of 'Say what you want about the US armed forces, but we don't kill civilians'.

Without getting political, lets just say that that statement is not the whole truth.

Xigbar in Kingdom Hearts 2 has this one line...

"See... that would work... if I were just any old dude. But I'M with the Organization! Nothing 'any old' about me!"

>_< GOD that is the dumbest thing ever uttered in a video game. I killed half of them in the GBA spinoff! Why is he talking about being in the Organization like it still matters?

LEON! HELLLP! LEEEONNN!!!!

Resident Evil 4, anyone?
I must have shot that girl a few dozen times.
I think I'll go with "anything said by anyone in Resident Evil 4"

The game is great, but the dialogue makes me cringe (especially anything said by Leon, the faggy douche)

Hey! Listen!

Well, I've been playing Mass Effect recently (Achievements, Gotta Catch Em' All!) so thus we get:

YOU WILL DIE!
ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!

Also, any game that uses lines from the movie Aliens.

the timing of a line, like a character could have told you something at the beginning of the game but instead tells you at the end of the game and it could have really helped out.

Example is Ninja Gaiden: Shopkeep-"ive been meaning to look at that sword of yours (even though you have already given it to me twice to upgrade it but ok) ohyeah theres a powerful jewel that makes this sword twice as strong and its back at where you were at on the first level, sorry for not telling you but now you need to set up a bunch of teleporters and somehow get back there" ok the quote kind of turned into a rant but you get the idea

Also anything along the lines of your boss saying 'Ha i was the bad guy all along!' its getting really old!!

*after generic villain takes a beating* *racked coughing* "Heh, you think (this is the end/ you can beat me/ you've won)?!" *reveal true form*. Seriously, why didn't you just start off in your true form? dick.

"Thou" "For Sooth" and any of that generic old English shit, I can't stand it!

This is what put me off Fable 2, Dragon Age and various other fantasy games, they just can never make it sound right, so it comes off as being very annoying and smug!
I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume that you've never played Dragon Age, or you'd know they don't use any old English words or phrases in that.
