It's been the same through the whole tournament. Villa put him to shame.Ekit said:What happened to Torres?
He is screwing up every chance he gets.
Bribe him with a clam and he just might tell you.Bebus said:Dear octopus, what will next week's lottery numbers be?
Commiserations dude, Germany were a fantastic, entertaining team through the tournament.Sonicron said:The dream is over... again. I honestly feel like crying.![]()
I suppose so, but it's still sad. Oh well, looking forward to the Euro Cup already.MiracleOfSound said:Commiserations dude, Germany were a fantastic, entertaining team through the tournament.Sonicron said:The dream is over... again. I honestly feel like crying.![]()
Spain were definately the better team overall, but I think Germany missed Muller a lot tonight and they were up against some of the best players in the world, 6 players from Barcelona... no shame in a defeat to Spain.

On a lighter note, Paul the octopus was right yet again. If I were a superstitious fool I'd probably have to start worshipping the ugly bastard by now.![]()
Paul the Octopus is an octopus that predicts the outcome of football matches. Basically what they do is, they have two plastic boxes with the teams flags painted on each box. They lower the boxes down into his tank. And the teams' box that Paul the Octopus crawls down in will win.MiracleOfSound said:What in the name of Pele is this Paul the Octopus?Sonicron said:I suppose so, but it's still sad. The Euro cup will be great, if Spain play Germany again I'll root for Germany next time. I think we have a good chance of qualifying too (as long as we don't get fucked over by FIFA's pre-historic attitude to replays again)
Now I am really curious. What will be the prediction of Germany vs Uruguay now? And who do I bribe to get the best food on the Uruguayan basket?Sonicron said:On a lighter note, Paul the octopus was right yet again. I guess your wish came true. Congrats!MiracleOfSound said:Who's psyched?
I love the World Cup, have since I was a little fella watching Gascoine, Schillichi, Maradona and Cascarino...
I'm hoping for a win from Spain or Holland, I enjoy both those teams. I also hope France get knocked out early and Thierri Henri gets booed off the pitch (apologies French Escapists... Irish man here, I still love your country)
So who are the Escapists rooting for?
Feel free to discuss the various games on this thread.
Who do you want to win? Who do you want to make an early exit?
Will the South African team do well? And will thier fans ever stop blowing those feckin' horns?
Amen to that last part. I'll shout it at the top of my lungs again and again: Give us robot referees! Or something of equivalent efficiency that'll prevent disasters of the calibre we've seen at this World Cup.MiracleOfSound said:What in the name of Pele is this Paul the Octopus?

No cheating! Do not mess with the almighty oracle!hermes200 said:That was a surprise. Spain was better, but before the match I wouldn't expect that outcome.
