What, no mention of the Street Fighter cartoon? Or the Mortal Kombat cartoon? And what was that one about various Nintendo characters in some bizzaro Nintendo universe? Videoland was it? Had Mother Brain as an evil witch. Yeah, that was fucked up.

I'll sum up, any badly animated TV show trying to cash in on Ren and Stimpy but could never manage it that basically had a mentally retarded main character(s) doing pointless and stupid things with no redeeming value.

Oh then there was Eagle Riders, One piece, Yu-Gi-oh.
Take Japanese cartoons, rename (Eagle Riders was Battle of the Planets was Gatchaman) change any enemies into "cyborgs" Destroy story line. One Piece, censors simple words like Food, Meshi, Books, then take a character made of Smoke called smoker, edit out his cigars name Chaser...Ahh hell just flat out destroy the entire idea of the show. Yu-gi? Invisible guns...more censorship, I mean this was a violent Japanese show someone was always beating the hell out of someone every show, change that to playing a childrens card game makes you beaten up...

Anything Re-imagined or remade even worse. Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, He Man, Transformers...
One piece, was absolute crap... the dub the people who dubbed are known as 4kids, they also ruined yu-gi-oh and countless other shows. but one thing i have to make clear. One piece is a phenomenal anime when it is done right by not censoring it and has proper voice over which no one in america has been able to so. So If you ever want to see a good version of one piece then look for the english subtitles Japanese version.

I'm pretty cool with most cartoons and about 90% of what you guys hate, I LOVE! But anyways, Harvey Birdman, 12 oz. Mouse, Assy Mcgee, Home Movies, Squidbillies, and that HORRID Aqua Teen Hunger Force....yeah...most of what Adult Swim puts up.

Johnny Test is alright, but could be better. Not to fond of Regular Show but I can deal with it.

Otherwise I just don't like Disney that much anymore. The movies are okay, as long as they don't try to do the G-Force thing where they're trying to be hip and edgy and cool. They need to stick to the Princesses, honestly it's the only way girls seem to get recognized is through the princess movies. Most movies, cartoons, and games are all about men.

Why do people hate Ed Edd n' Eddy? That was one fo the best cartoons I've ever watched.
Its not apping Ren an Stimpy and neither is Courage the Cowardly Dog. Though I do know the shows you're refering too.
Shows I hate....proably Johnny test, for cramming as many fart jokes as possible in 20 minutes. I agree with FanBoy and chumchum. It tries top hard.

I personally find "Ugly Americans" to be inspired. The show does a good job deconstructing society, and the use of the term "Human to creature ratio" makes me laugh because it applies to our world where everyone looks normal, but you have a distinct rift between those who act like people and those who simply act. "Ugly Americans" has a point and a message, and thus does not deserve to be here.

You wanna know who does deserve to be here though? "Spongebob". That invertebrate can slither back to the hell whence he came. His existence does not contribute anything to society other than another throw-away merchandising mule that does nothing but lower the average IQ of the entire planet.

(Edit) Actually, just about any show that exists purely for entertainment deserves to be here. Don't get me wrong entertainment is important, but if you don't have a general theme, message, or point to express, then you are just making noise. Furthermore the greatest crime of a cartoon is to exist solely for merchandising. Examples of this include.

Spongebob, Hot Wheels, G.I.Joe, Transformers, Bratz, ect.

For me, it's Johnny Test. Never before have I seen such a plain unfunny and inane show. At least Flapjack had nightmare fuel going for it.

Flapjack was like Spongebob, but instead of funny and charming, it was unfunny and disturbing.

A large chunk of Adult Swim's original programming. I like Metalocalypse and somewhat like Robot Chicken, but otherwise I mostly watch it for King of the Hill and the better Family Guy episodes.

Worst Cartoon Ever: Game Dogs. Never heard of it? Go to the Escapist's Video Page, then press Series Tab and go all the way down, you should see it in the Dead Pile. Watching the whole series will show you why.

Also, Johnny Test Really really pisses me off.

Oh this pile of steaming crap. Turns out this was based on a 1920's movie where yes you had the skinny goofy guy, the fat guy (Abbottttttt!) And a ape.

They cashed in on the "Well done" Ghost busters, but sadly this was the first (well the 192x movie) to hold the name... which it should have just surrendered in Shame.

Ever since Chowder showed up anything Cartoon Network made was just flat out stupid. (Johnny Test is excluded since it was on WB first.)

It's amazing some people hate on some cartoons that are still better, I mean classics are still classics for a reason, Ed Edd and Eddy wasn't as bad as Adventure Time is, Spongebob isn't as appalling as FlapJack, and I know that Toonami beats every Live Action CN show there is even if Toonami had it's ups and downs.

Overall, a lot of the shows are bad but the absolute worst I've watched is pretty much Total Drama... Anything.

There's nothing funny about it, there's nothing exciting about it, and (true story) I saw the show was on and flipped the channel to static. The show wasn't really interesting since all the characters were just different stereotypes, the winner of the first season was WAY to predictable, and the thought that somebody could actually watch a Cartoon Reality Show (which isn't reality because it's a cartoon) just completely baffles me.
My final statement on this is: The show was a chain show where you'd have to watch all the episodes in order. This is fine for a show like Ben 10 where the action's still there in each episode but when it's Total DRAMA you have to be there to watch tension build otherwise the show just becomes confusing, pointless, and then the characters start to just seem like jerks for no reason (which is why the winner was so predictable.)
The Winner was the only nice guy left. Ya know, the big blond guy.

We all know why we watch cartoons, it's obvious. We want to sit down in a chair, turn on a channel and be entertained which TD simply does not do. In all honesty, as annoying as Fan Boy and Chum Chum may be, they will still always be more entertaining than TD.

(I hope someone reads this. It took a while to put this together.)

IMHO, cartoons are great when they make the best possible use of the fact that given how
everything about it is fictional (i.e. it's not the real world or anything close to it no matter the similarities), it can go as crazy or over the top as it wants, especially if it's for comedy's sake. Of course, you still need the obvious elements such as likeable characters, room to grow, interesting story, etc. Sure there are things like story, where quality depends on the intention (comedy = not so much heavy stuff.)

So to me, any cartoon that doesn't embrace that, or if it does without care or quality, sucks.

Another thing that sucks: when the characters, mainly the protagonists, are complete morons for the sake of being complete morons and staying that way. And when they emote, it's dumb and obnoxious and has no impact whatsoever. It's the worst kind of one dimensional character one could create. I understand that there are characters like say, Homer Simpson, who IS a moron, but NOT one-dimensonal. He's the way he is mostly because of sitcom standards, but at least he's funny for the most part (that's where good writing and comedic timing comes in, I know). Plus, there are enough moments in The Simpsons 20+ year history that have shown Homer to have a wide range as a character, moments where he's genuienly concerned about being a good husband, father, son, helping someone out, etc. even if it's for something he provoked, which is more than I can say about that bastard Spongebob.

Through my little brother, I discovered a show on Disney Channel called Phineas and Ferb. I can understand why some don´t like it, mostly probably because of the rigid structure set for almost every episode and it's reliance on repetition. But for whatever reason, I have been enjoying it. A lot. It's just fun and it works FOR ME. The comedy is well timed, the dialogue is funny, it's silly without being stupid (mostly), the characters are likeable (the best part of it), and it's eponymous characters ARE NOT IDIOTS. Basically, I kinda feel about this show the same way Moviebob feels about the G.I. Joe movie.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/escape-to-the-movies/866-G-I-Joe-The-Rise-of-Cobra

The creators have done work for shows like The Simpsons, Rocko's Modern Life, and Family Guy. I just wanted to bring this up since it's been on my mind for a while.

Aaaaaaaaanyway..... if I had to pick the worst animated series, it would probably be Spaceballs: The Series. It was supposed to be an animated spinoff of the Mel Brooks movie, characters and all, on G4. But it was SO BAD, that it only aired a single episode. All you need to know is that the episode's title was "Lord of the Onion Rings".

Before anyone brings it up, I know I focused on comedy rather than cartoons with a more dramatic edge (Anime mostly), but it's only because the fun factor is my main draw when it comes to cartoons.

Yes, you do. What's so bad about it?

The only cartoon I actually like these days is Phineas and Ferb. In fact, it's the only thing on television that I ever bother to watch. Cartoons, non-cartoons, it's all the same. Dull, dull, dull.
Well put, my friend.

Sadly the thing they turned One piece into is unforgivable and I seriously say it's not related to the show in any way shape or form.

It's like saying Droids was cannon to Starwars (shutter)

Shanks wtf...

Captain N the gamemaster... oh yeah there was a honorable mention.

Still nothing on true stinkers like the Ghostbuster, Turbo teen, SNorks, heck Captain Planet...
