Valkyrie Profile ending B. Noncommital, as you neither did Best nor Worst. On paper, it is an ending. In practice, you would hurl your controller across the Rainbow Bridge and cry bitter tears of lament for not siding with those who would see Asgard in ruin.

Neverwinter Nights 2: OC.

Rocks fall. Everybody dies.

And before mentioning MoTB, I (and a lot of other people) played when it wasn't out, so it doesn't count. It still sucked.

Definately borderlands.
CHASE THIS AMAZING VAULT OF AWESOME!
HERE IT IS!
lame boss fight, no awesome gadgets and wealth. end.

Fallout 3 may be forced, but it beats the crap out of borderlands.

As an extra get out for fallout - What say we move the button away from the deadly radiation and turn it on from out here?

Condemned 2 would win because of how series-destroying it is in my mind.
RAAAAAAARGH!!! Juist reading the game's title had me foaming at my mouth. I still think the first game was a fantastic experience, the second one fucked absolutely everything, EVERYTHING up by explaining every fucking thing in the most boring, clichéed, overused and predictable way possible. What happened to subtility in games? Ghaaa... the rage is uncontrollable!!!
EXACTLY! The first game was excellent because the major points weren't explained, you were just caught up in the middle of everything. My interpretation was that everything 'supernatural' that happened was symbolic of Ethan going insane, and that the boss was just a clever way of symbolising human hatred (which is why Ethan had to overpower it). Whether or not that was canon didn't matter, it made sense and I liked it that way. The important thing is that it COULD have been that, because they left it interpretive.

But the crap they came up with to explain everything...oh God, what were they thinking!? The gameplay improved, but they ruined a good thing by trying to make the story obvious and devoid of mystery and interpretation. It's like if Twilight was the sequel to Pan's Labyrinth.

I really, really hope that game gets a remake. Not the first one, that's fine, but unless they retcon the events of the second game, the series is dead. It's not a common move, but it seems needed in this case.

Not sure if ANYONE other than me has played the game...
The game was Sudeki...
I grabbed that game on a whim when it came out, never regretted it. Great game, unfortunately overlooked. I never did beat that last boss though, guess that's probably a good thing.
I'd play it again if it were backwards compatible...

Has no one here played Clive Barker's Jericho? That is easily the worst ending ever...if you can even call it that.
Thank you! Yes, I'd been waiting for someone to say that. Quite easily one of the worst games of all time, and then the ending redoubles its efforts at completely sucking.
You know, for a game as bad as Jericho, you would think the end would be a welcome reward meaning the end of the game has come.

I think bad endings are more reserved for good games - that just don't have the ending to match up.

Throwing some RPGs in there I hate how Wild Arms 3 & 4 ended.

They never find a cure for her and she dies? Are you serious? And there's nothing that you could do to save the mom either? WEAK!

I also don't have any plans on picking up Persona 3 either. Cuz... you know...
i have to say with the context of the game it works it may be sad but thats persona 3 it's about death right from the get go. hell it's a persona of death that give you the power in the first place

Final fantasy XIII because I'm pretty sure no one survived to see it.
I liked it and I did. Your statement is false.

OT: Fable. Fucking. 2.

We all know why.

And KotOR 2 I can agree with as well, although I did have a mod after a while that took care of most of the crap ending (dialogue-wise). If just a little bit.

Without a shadow of a doubt: STALKER - shadow of Chernobyl. It makes you fight thru dozens of ridiculously overpowered military elites which are always behind cover when you are in the open and then all you get for beating them is a pile of rubble sitting on top of you. And I played on easy so I dread to think what they can do on hard.

Condemned, the first one. Seriously, that game is damn near perfect and then at the end, BAM demonic bullshit.

Divinity II

Everything you did, either for good or for evil was orchestrated in its entirety by the bad guy. And then you get to spend eternity frozen in time alongside everyone else that was there before you doing exactly the same thing. And also failing.
Probably the most awesome cliffhanger in the world. There is an addon that continues the story and Divine Divinity 3 is also in pre-production. Sorry, you are wrong. The end of Divine Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis is just brilliant.

Bioshock, after a great boss fight and build up it just kind of ended...very disappointing. It was very abrupt, so I did not care for it.
Really? How was it abrupt?
Maybe you need to find all of the audio diaries. The story is for the most part tied up and the ending certainly makes sense.

played it. Must admit, I never bothered finishing that end boss fight.
The fact that you can get 100% of the achievements without finishing it, goes to show that even the developers didn't think the ending was worth it.

Look, there are some bad endings in the game t hat seriously leave you like, "what the fuck, it wasn't a good ending! I didn't get to fuck (insert chick's name here) or you made me look stupid or useless"

But Prince of Persia BEATS THE CAKE. PERIOD.

There is no other game that does this:

Hi player, please sit through 20 hours of gameplay plus achievement whoring. In this story this chick's father releases this evil to ress his daughter. She happens to be with you on this journey. So you finally seal the evil, but she dies to do so. Then, at the end you release the evil force again to resurrect her. By the way, YOU HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO COMPLETELY CONTROL YOUR CHARACTER WHILE YOU DO THIS AND SINGLE-HANDEDLY RESET THE ENTIRE STORY OF THE GAME WHILE THE CREDITS ROLL. Congratulations, player. You just found out you could've beaten the game by NOT PLAYING IT.
While many games have had horrible endings, i must agree.
Prince of Persia was single handedly the worst when it comes to endings.

Honestly, i didnt even like the game! So when they threw the ending in my face it just pissed me off even more!

I agree, although I missed like two metal pieces so I think the ending changes based on that. At least Rosa says something about 'If you had found any more...' blah blah blah.

For the record, that bit where
You have to photograph the Torturer and when the camera zooms on his face, he turns around - scared the shit out of me. Best moment of that game.

Kotor 2.... It's so bad I don't even want to explain, man... UGH.
I remember KOTOR 2, I did not under stand it.
The first was better, while in the second the left they ending so unpolished because of money issues or laziness.
In Obsidian's (the people who made KOTOR 2) defense, Lucas Arts forced them to ship an unfinished product so it would be in time for the holidays so a lot had to be cut.
No, that is wrong. Obsidian signed a contract, agreeing that they can finish it in one year! They were just too confident about their abilities and failed.

KotOR 2 had a terrible ending. You weren't told what was happening, nothing was really achieved, one of the characters may or may not have died just before the final mission, the plo- Screw it. Just remembering it is painful.

Advent Rising also had a pretty damned bad ending; it felt less than half finished, to be honest. On the other hand, that entire game was bad, not just the ending.

Also: Fable 2 and Fable 3. Both of those endings were anti-climactic as hell, and really, really poorly executed. I loved Fable 1 though.

BORDERLANDS but the claptrap revolution gave it the best final boss battle I have had in a while (lost offer $2billion in the fight).

My go to game in this question is God of War 2, primarily because the story got so ridiculously silly towards the end. Time travel all over the place, have a dramatic and unnecessary sacrifice and add a twist that is so contrived and retarded that it just pissed me off and completely turned me off from getting the sequel. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that there is absolutely no closure whatsoever and that it basically just stops. This is the only ending I can think of that made me give up on a series.
