Left 4 Dead.
When I first heard about it, I wanted this game really, really bad. Then, I got the game. It was fun the first time through all the campaigns, but then it went completely downhill from there. I don't know if my disk is defective or if I'm just a retard, but the 'director' didn't vary the game at all any of the other times I played it. And I dislike the verses as well. It was just too easy to die as the infected, and playing as the survivors on verses just sucks.

I won't say bad, but Prototype was a real disappointment for me.
This too. I got bored within 2 hours :(
Of course I played on my friends box and he already had all of the upgrades and stuff so there was nothing to really achieve.

G.I Joe: The Rise of Cobra for the wii. ill explain why if you havent seen its Metacritic score:

The graphics looked like Star Fox for the N64.
The controls are ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE.
The Camera is the worst since Lego Star Wars.
The 12 different Joes and 4 Cobras play the same, with incredible small differences.
The gamplay is fucking boring. hold the B button while you try to run around, which is hard in itself because of the horrible controls...

Wow, holy crap. Do you guys know what the word worst actually means?

Try "Bus Simulator 2008" or "Secret Service: Ultimate Sacrifice" if you want worst.
Bus simulator? That sounds wonderful in comparison to...

Train Simulator. It's real, it's stupid, it's logically incapable of not being linear, and it's AWFUL

Aw.... did I hurt your feelings? Come on now, be reasonable.

There are hundreds of games made every year. If anyone seriously names a Triple-A title without the qualifier of "worst game I personally played" than they are almost certainly statistically wrong. Sure, they can dislike them. Hell, I loathe Halo 3, but the worst game made in two years? Not hardly. Even if I didn't like the design, at least it fucking had some.

What about the games that are simply released unfinished? The ones where you regularly encounter game-breaking glitches with no sign of a patch in site because the studio, which was a one-shot flash in the pan, has long since closed it's doors? What about all the Wii shovelware? Would you rather play WiiPlay or Halo 3, really now? (hint, only one of these titles actually qualifies as a "game") Granted, I didn't play many of these sub-titles myself, because my schedule rarely allows for me to indulge in a sub-Tripe-A title, but I'm certainly aware that they exist. I personally said Alone in the Dark, but even as bad as that was, I'm aware that far worse titles were made. Most of them on the Wii.

Hurt my feelings? Not hardly. This is an internet forum, not real life. I was more confused on your depth of caring about what others had to say and how you disagreed. But then again this is an internet forum.

Which is silly because what this thread is is the "worst game of 2008-2009". Now you can't vote on something that you haven't played so not everyone is going to be able to name Balls of Fury or many of those shovelware Wii titles. Many people only play the AAA titles which means that if a game fails to meet their expectations that right there is their worst game. Then again this isn't about the worst technical game, most broken gameplay or anything like that. This is just asking peoples opinions so it isn't going to be some sort of test as to who voted for the "correct" game. It just seems overly silly to get bothered by someone going "OMGZZZ HALOS!"

Thinking about the last bit of your comment 'why am i playing this' made me think of one game. Will probly get some death threats now but got to name Street Fighter 4.
I so agree with you. I felt that game was a greatly hyped underwhelming mess. Worst still, on a standard Xbox 360 controller it was practically unplayable. I wasn't prepared to shell out $200+ for a "good" stick either.

I'd direct your attention to Dawn of War 2. A zero hour patch is never a good sign, a zero hour patch that doesn't fix anything on a high budget game, that remains broken for upwards of a month is beyond bad. Gets my vote. (I'm fairly sure it came out 09).

I just don't understand this...what about it was exactly the same? The engine?

Personally, i would have to give this honour of the the worst game i have played to Star wars: The force unleashed. It's graphics were an eyesore on some levels. The controls were irritating (seriously, whats the point of a jump button, if you don't move almost at all in a direction, without press of another button?) Though it did clear up some plot holes in the canon, it seemed to make massive holes in order to do this.
Some of the fights were irritating and seemed to just involve the same moves, bringing no variety at all. Even the Simpsons game was more enjoyable, and apart from the cheesy rip offs of other games (which was its strongest point) that game was tedious and slow.
