It's called Resident Evil cause the couldn't trademark Bio Hazard. But as to what it means. I have no idea either.Nincompoop said:Resident Evil?
I don't know... A resident is a person living in somewhere, e.g. "a resident at hotel Made-Up".
Evil residents?...?
Please tell me if there is another meaning to it.
If you want to stretch it a bit, it's because Third Echelon is a Splinter faction of the NSA, and Cell is another word for faction in the sense it's used here. Also, if Sam's discovered, the US will deny he ever existed, so he's a "Splinter" in that sense as well.BolognaBaloney said:What did Splinter Cell have to do with the games? I mean shouldn't they have been called "Sneaky white guy in a black suit?"
Seriously. When you have to look into the backstory to find out why a game is called what it is, something's wrong. True, Mass Effect is very important to Mass Effect (it's almost to them what electricity is to us, but far more. It's how everything works, including the guns), I shouldn't have to read the codex (which I was going to do anyway, but still) to know that.Kilaknux said:Mass Effect doesn't exactly sell itself very well, let's be honest. It just sounds like...well, nothing, really
Echer123 said:Well, it's more of a tool than a game, but I think Touch DIC for the DS takes the cake. As does If It Moves, Shoot It! I guess they'll have to share it...

Alright... because life in that time has degenerated into half of what it used to be, because of the cybernetic slavery, reproduction suppression, and various other... crimes. That's why they wear the half life signs on themselves, because they are half of what they used to be. NEXT!bernthalbob616 said:Could someone explain to me why Half-life is named so?
Apparently, they can't go Biohazard because there's already a game with that title in the US, even before RE was conceived.scnj said:Resident Evil (2 onwards) - What exactly was wrong with Biohazard anyway?
Shin Megami Tensei is a separate game series. Persona is a spin-off of SMT. IIRC, the games are just called "Persona" officially, and not "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona". If you want a bad-sounding (or awesome, by virtue of being EPIC LONG) title, look no further than "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army" or its sequel: "Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. King Abaddon". Colon Cancer, much?wc_rock said:Shin Megami Tensei: Persona....... Now I'm not bashing on the games cause I've never played them and I've heard they're good but its just a pain in the ass to say.
Big Mutha Truckers is for the PS2. I think it was a pseudo-sequel to Sega's arcade truck-driver simulator.bigolbear said:where can i get these games - what platform are they for.... they sound like a lot of fun.

Ye but isn't it sorta lame title? If it specifically means that?Hoppetussa said:It makes sense. Didn't the first game take place in a mansion?Nincompoop said:Resident Evil?

Maybe they weren't planning on making sequels.Nincompoop said:Ye but isn't it sorta lame title? If it specifically means that?Hoppetussa said:It makes sense. Didn't the first game take place in a mansion?Nincompoop said:Resident Evil?
