Lord of the Rings:Fellowship of the Ring for the PS2. The world was fun to see come to life, but the gameplay made my brain hurt. And sneaking out of the shire was one of the most terrible moments in game history.....and not cannon!
Ohh shit, I remember that game. What a load of suck. Although Haze is pretty fucking shite too. Two Worlds was a load of bad looking bollocks.

For myself, in recent years it would have to be a fight between Gears of War 2 or Halo 3.

Now don't get me wrong, I love Halo 3, (despite it's crappy ending. GoW2, however, can go DIAF), but I have never seen a game violate it's own rules so quickly. Example:
Throw gernade at guy. Gernade explodes. Guy dies. Now go try it else where. Well, that didn't work, did it? (or, has this one ever happened to you?) Fire your BR at someone eight times in the head, and they still don't die, yet they fire at you twice and you die? Wtf? I thought hitting someone in the head took longer than that to kill? 'Nope, just with your weapon.' What? Why? 'No reason.'

Now, I only have two problems with GoW2; you press A (xbox360 controls) to do everything, and the chainsaw won't cut everyone. Why? 'because that guy is to big!' Oh, really? So the chainsaw that can cut people my same size in half in a matter of seconds won't even leave a gash on someone else? 'Nope.' Will you at least try? 'Nope'. Gah!!

So yeah, something like that.

Edit: Ah, I totally forgot all about the Destroy all Humans series. Bad controls, horrible voice choices (not bad voice acting mind you, it just didn't fit the characters for me), and poor graphics. I mean, the last one came out on the 360, why does it look like a PS1 game?
You really are determend to call that the worst game ever because of one flaw (that doesnt really affect the game anyway), arent you?

I'd love to say that World of Warcraft was the worst game I ever played, but that would be loathing, not well-rounded judgment. The worst game I ever played would probably be Xcom: Apocalypse.
Lol i really loved XCOM: Apocalypse, I was going through the thread thinking either 'Agree' / 'Glad I haven't played that' / 'OK not everyones cup of tea but certainly could see that as someones pet hate' to that lol. Why was it shit? I thought it was difficult and strange but not specifically bad ... but then i was probably a teenager when I played it.

Fortunately I can't remember bad/awful games as I have such rose tinted views of the good ones, however a PC game called Genesis (Rising - i think) comes to mind - I played it for a couple of hours trying to see something good in it and realised I'd actually die unhappy at wasting some of my life playing it.

Saw Superman 64 on Broken Pixels a while back and it looked awful.

Well, if you had read more, you would have seen that I had desided WiiSports was the worse, but fine, I'll bite...

Yes, I will call gears 2 the worse because of one flaw (and it really does affect gameplay, as that is your character's main weapon, which the game makes you have ever so often), which I see as a major flaw. If you're only going to cut down a certain sized enemy with a weapon, why carry it? Excuse me for wanting realism in a game about killing non-existant creatures. *sarcasm*. I paid my $60 and dammit, I want my monies worth.

Edit: And furthermore, why tease us with a cut scene wherein a minor character has an amazingly epic duel with said weapon, yet we can't do the same? (also, I've never been a fan of the 'press one button to do everything (in this case the 'A' button)' games...it makes me feel like I'm playing on the game cube.)

I know where youre coming from but still, its one flaw thats easy to work around. To be honest, I wouldnt want to get that close to a Boomer in the first place.
I dont mind having an all purpose button.
Its a cut scene, what did you expect? Fenix to do something that isint completely over the top and that you can actually do in the game? Get real man :p

Tombraider Angel of Darkness. Bugged and rushed and just poor!

Most over hyped though is Halo 2 or 3 for me, I just think that game sucks next to Team Fortress 2

Most disappointing personally: Masters of Orion 3.... What on earth were they thinking?

As for the BR it is inconsistent because it being overly accurate it would be too overpowered in comparison to all of the short range weapons. It can be aggrevating at times, like with the pistol but oh well at least it is more balanced than Halo 2.
Well, I get that, but if it's a duel between me and a 12year old from suffux doped up on redbull, then there's no reason each of us shouldn't have an equal chance at dying, is what I'm trying to say. Would that be more of a connection speed thing (i.e. I have a better connection, therefore I get hit more) than the games fault?
The spread is random so you would have an equal chance of killing the other person. As for the connection thing, I would guess that is right.

Halo 3 has this system where if you fire a bullet or bullets at someone and for some reason they didn't receive that information than you will get the bullet back, in the case of a BR it all depends on who gets that info, your system might notice that you got hit by three bullets but there system might have only processed one of yours.

Along with that there is lag, and poor hit detection every now and then.(i.e. Playing a offline splitscreen deathmatch getting stuck, than it explodes and does no damage at all.)

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.
Grrrr why man, i thought it was an awesome game.

On-Topic: Yea for me its basically hat the OP said. Everyone had high expectations for Legendary and what with the super awesome pics and vids, but yet it still sucked they must have been pre-rendered.
Don't mind him, he is our local PS3 fanboy and its his opinion.
I thought the game was kick ass as well.
The fuck is that? The game is multiplatform, always has been - why does being a Playstation fanboy exclude me from hating that game to the exclusion of, say, DOA 3?
It was mulit? The first 2 were xbox exclusive, I just assumed chaos theory was.

Probably something from Mega CD. Sonic CD wasn't that utter crap.

It's hard to remember bad games you've played.
Syndicate on the SNES - because it's unplayable.
I completed it on the PC, tried to play it some years later and couldn't get past the first level due to I couldn't make out what anything was.

Any kind of Marvel game for the PSP. bought them all in one hit at EBAY. Whoops.

Saying this though aren't there thousands of games no one's played that cost less than £5 on the PS2 like, Horseriders in Training or general crap like that.
We need someone to play them all.
Shotgun not me.

Off the top of my head, I'm gonna go with Granstream Saga on the PSX. It was an RPG with a terrible fighting system, crappy anime cutscenes (probably what suckered me into buying it), and terrible final dungeon. Not to mention a terrible story/setting. I seriously have a hard time motivating myself to save a world that consists of 4 tiny floating islands that are maybe a mile around each.

Batman and Robin. The movie tie-in game for the Playstation. I got it as a kid as the very first game for my brand new Playstation. I was less than pleased with what I was handed.

Worst. Christmas. Ever.

Superman 64.

I also don't get all this Halo 3 hate. I'll be the first to admit that I feel that it is VERY overrated in terms of multiplayer, and that the difficulty in campaign is a little F-ed in terms of balance, especially at the harder difficulties. I shouldn't be having to deal with Snipers with pinpoint accuracy in the first goddamn level! I think that Halo 2 had MUCH better maps and was basically the peak of the series. I could play marathon sessions of that, while in Halo 3, unless I'm extremely inebriated, I usually can't stand for more than an hour.

I'm quite suprised this gem hasn't shone through yet.

Street Fighter: The Movie

Jeeping fuck, why the hell did Capcom give a SF game to an outside developer that only made trackball golf and bowling games?
