Having played Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter and loved it (despite it being scaled down for the PS2), I then bought the sequel, GRAW 2. I may as well have piled up my money, drenched it in petrol and set about it with a flamethrower, for all the good it's been. Your squadmates have only a damp sponge, where their brain should be. And of course, if they die, mission fail. Tanks have a simple job playing whack- a -mole, as your friends seem to have not noticed there is a big gun pointing at them.

I purchased Genesis Rising. It was by far the worst game I have ever encountered, and I was quite ashamed of myself for buying it.

Buying NFL Quarterback Club 2001. I found out just the reason it was $2: Exactly the same game that came out 2 years before it.

Buying anything with "Stronghold" in the title. Just goes to show even the best of us (me) can be fooled.

too many to count. Many a save game muck up where you had to do masses of the game again. Giving away older consoles and games and then wishing you could play some old classics only to find them extortionatly priced on ebay. Continuing to buy pro evelotion soccer year after year even though it has been rubbish since the fourth one. Playing on xbox live drunk to see my rating and comments go from 100% perfect in a night to absolutely diabolical.

Looking back I made the opposite mistake. Buying an N64 vs. a PSone. Gaming library was much more vibrant on the PSone and it took years and a lot more money for me to recapture all the missed great games where you could play most of the good N64 games in a week.

I have done a lot of trades, bought a lot of rare games, sold them, got rid of systems. Some days I miss the old stuff, others glad I don't have all that clutter and crap.

I guess pre-ordering DMC2 would be my biggest foul.

Becoming a Crysis fanboy.
Building a new PC for Crysis.
Buying Crysis.
I see nothing wrong with that. Crysis is a great single player experience and now you have a PC that can play LOTS of amazing other PC games and multiplat games better than a console. Might I recommend the Witcher, STALKER, Dawn of War Dark Crusade, Supreme Commander, Civ 4, etc. ? You will be surprised at what even a computer that is spanked by Crysis can still do. I might only get 40 FPS in crysis with my monster rig, but when I get set Company of Heroes (amazing game, too) and FEAR on ultra/max and get 70FPS average. Bioshock around 90FPS average, Half Life 2 Ep 2. 100+ AVG... Yum

I bought Orange Box under the impression i was getting 5 awesome games for 1. What i got was 1 awesome but cripplingly short game and 4 boring ovverated ones. I rectified this by trading it in some new controllers and a battery cable.
I'm very, very sorry you feel that way. I realize not everyone likes everything, but I have to say Half Life 2 is the best single player FPS experience I have ever played.

Orange Box. My anticipations based on everyone elses foaming mouth preaching were simply too high. Considering even if i've never 'heard' of it at all, it would have all still been a pile of crap. Now i'm obliged to say, except portal, which was only really a great concept coupled with funny dialogue and a barely passable 'game'.

I'm the type of person that looks at TF2 and says, "Are the developers total retards? 'Oho, this is kewl guys! I added a machinegun to the sniper1! Soliders can only shoot ROCKETS! ROFL.'

Anyway, that's just me. I'm off to play COD4 or Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines now.

actually just last week i sold my original Xbox. and even though i haven't played it for about the past 4 months or so I felt kinda bad for selling. it. Kinda felt like I lost a dear friend. and i only got $35 bucks for it but i needed the money for a bass guitar and when i asked if i could get the money in cash they were like "Oh...then you only get $10" so yeah. but now I have money set aside for when spore comes out. yay. still have separation anxiety though.
