Well, good answers one and all but I think its time for me to finish this.
My dad's friend has recently had a baby boy. They are Indian or Sri Lankan or something and they picked a cultural name.
Shithead.
It's technically pronounced shi-theed but when that kid is read out on the role on his first day of school, god I dont even want to know.

I read once, some kid's parents named him something like Vvvllkkkakvavkavvsvsvsvkavsvaksvaa, no kidding, and pronounced it "Steve" or something.
I'm totally going to do that, I mean, it's 4 AM and at 4 AM anything seems like a good idea, but seriously.. I will.

Shaan has got to be one of the worst I've ever seen.
I find bastardizations of names I think are good so much worse than names that at least sound like the parents tried to bring something new to the genre (not something you do with naming your children though, if you ask me).

Good luck trying to get your kid to talk, because I get the feeling that he/she will never talk to you...Ever...

In the news paper a few years ago, It stated that a child had been named "4 real".(yes WITH the 4)
There was a couple who attempted this in New Zealand however by NZ law a person cannot have a number in the name. Thus the couple settled upon Superman. -_-

Disappointment (in Hebrew - Achzava). Parents gave their girl that name after their son died in a war. "Come over here Disappointment..."
Horrible name yes however I laughed.

Ok, worst names I've ever heard of. Hmm, Apple would definitely be one (seriously, who besides a celebrity names their kid after a fruit?)

and then there's one of my Mom's old classmates who was named, I kid you not, "Harry Bawls"

I think the website "penisland.net" is a pretty god-awful name. Mind you, that's suppose to be PEN ISLAND *dot* net, not..... yeah, not what it looks like. It's a website that sells pens.

My brother can pronouce that really well;
That's that place in wales! I had a substitute teacher from there once, she told us what it meant. I can't remember, but it's basically instructions

"The place by the road near the chapel by those red rocks on the lefthand side" or seomthing along those lines

OT: Princess Tiiaami. Katie Price and Peter Andre named their little girl after a TITLE and a cocktail! You can't CALL someone a princess, I may as well call my child

"Sir Robert Peppington Smithe Lawrence, MP, VC, PC"

And have him be the most awesome kid in the playground! (sarcasm)
