Also I peeled back a toe nail once when I stubbed my toe... that hurt like a mother.
Actually, I had that same problem. The peeling back didn't hurt that much. It was sudden.
Perhaps I should explain. About 5-6 years ago, I was changing my pants, which were located in the drawers under my bed. I was trying to pull them out, but they were stuck. By sheer force, I pulled the drawer out, but my left big toe-nail was in the way, and became stuck at a 90-degree angle with my foot. It didn't really hurt, but what did hurt was fully submerging my toe into a bucket of rubbing alcohol hurt like hell. My toe-nail didn't actually come off until two-and-a-half weeks later.
On an unrelated note, last Sunday, my arms started hurting. It felt like they were pumping pain. During the day, I was fine, but at night, the pain was so intense, I couldn't sleep. It was the only time it happened, though.
EDIT: I saw someone say they stepped on a nail. This happened to me twice. Once when I was really little. All I can remember was that I was on a roof in Mexico. The other was last year. My mother was making a tomato garden in the backyard. I, in my eternal wisdom (/sarcasm), decide to walk over the boards, and a rusty nail goes straight up my foot. I was lucky in that, 1) it didn't reach the bone, and 2) I already had my tetanus shot.
Also, I had a (not serious) soccer injury. Last year, in my phys. ed. class, we were playing "indoor multi-ball soccer" (best way I can describe it), and I managed to kick a soccer ball into the other team's goal (between two cones), and another soccer ball hits me on the side of my neck. For a good 15 seconds, I felt like I couldn't breathe, but after a while, I got the feeling in my neck again (2 seconds of pain), and jumped back in the fray.
