Xen in Half-Life is a pretty good example of this.

I also thought that the level where you're chasing some guy through the Favelas was the low point in the otherwise thoroughly enjoyable single-player campaign of Modern Warfare 2, and that Grunt's side-quest in Mass Effect 2 was the single disappointing side-quest in a game where those were really the highlight.

In Metroid Prime the ungodly amount of Back tracking you had to do, especially if you didn't actively look for the Artifacts while exploring, and how Awkward the First Person View made the Platforming are two minor complaints in an otherwise Amazing Game.
HEY, that is a staple of metroid. It needed to be there, else it wasn't metroid.
Still doesn't make it all that fun.
:)
Besides, i thought Bombing EVERYTHING if you got lost and Tubes were the Staples of Metroid.
You backtrack and bomb everything, and you'll LIKE it.
Yes Sir.
*Goes to try and enjoy walking through the same rooms for at leas an hour*

The final boss fight in Okami. Wonderful game, beautiful graphics but very, very, VERY annoying last boss fight.

well as everyone knows THE BEST GAME EVER MADE was Star wars: the phantom menace (no of course it wasn't really don't be silly, but it's hilariousness value makes up for it)

the only real lowpoint that you couldn't overlook was the fact they had to make the film for the game to exist
shame

Plus Jar Jar obviously ... *shudder*

Oh I should have added the "Boss fight" in Fable 2!! That pissed me off to no end!
That can't exactly be the worst part of a "Best" game, Can it? I mean Fable 2 was essentially a life sim set in 1600-1700 with magic, guns and swords, heck, if they made it so you had to feed the pooch then it would just be a combination between, The Sims, Nintendogs, and Monopoly? xD

OT: Erm, I would say, Taris on KOTOR, good in the first play through but then it just became a really long tutorial really.

I'd agree, Taris was an good start to the game through the first time, but every subsequent play through it felt like a drag.

The compulsory fighting sections in Mirror's Edge, which really didn't suit the tone of the game.

In Majora's Mask: The stone tower. I got sooooo sooooo sooooo soooooooooo sick of playing that song that replicates yourself, switching masks, playing the song again, switching masks....
Agreed, that and the switching of water currents in the Water temple frustrated me to no end...

Also the Killer Croc bit in Arkham Asylum, it was kinda scary at first but then it just got tedious...

This. I despised it in FFX, i never could be asked to play it since it was so boring and i was... quite crap at it.

Dragon Age: Origins, the Mage bit is very boring after doing it a couple of times.

BioShock's part where you're
a Big Daddy

Elder Scrolls:Oblivion > > Whenever I commit a crime such as robbing a house without anyone seeing me, the city guards will automatically come running.
*Punches Wall* That pissed me off so much, I tried wearing Light Armour to make less noise, but they still come.

OT: Metal Gear Solid 4: Any part of the game with those little bloody robots. To bring back memories of Shadow Moses, it would have been much better to sneak past guards because it would have been just like the first game, instead we get little stupid robots.

There was a random dance sequence in Stubbs the Zombie that made no sense to me.

Pretty much the Second Half of Farenheit (Indigo Prophecy)

Every Weapon strip situation ever.

I agree with the Borderlands 'ending', absolutely terrible. Great game though...
I didn't like it at first either but then I started to think it made sense. I mean.. if you were really there, would you go through that much trouble to pop the vault if you really knew what was inside. :p
