i think the worst i have expirenced is my mums friends. they seem to always have something to say about someone. lebs being lazy, things like that. so not that bad really.

when i was younger i got puched by a older aboriginal girl (yeah yeah i got punched by a girl) after she and her friends through rocks at me. i dont think it was racist but it was a black on white attack if that counts.

I'm part of teenage Britain, so homophobia is rampant. But all it ever amounts to is the use of the word gay as a derogatory word or a substitute for 'damn'.
Really, whenever someone mentions the fact that someone's skin colour, gender, or sexuality is different it can amount to racism. Ironically, black people are the ones who mention being black the most. So really, they're kind of starting the racism.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of my school is racist, considering all of the black people in my school can't go a sentence without mentioning their black and are all complete pillocks.

I am a Latina living in South Korea.

People pet me because of my strange hair and fondle my boobs on the subway. ;_;

Noob troll is noob.

OT: I've seen quite a bit of racism around Australia. The scary thing isn't the big incidents for me. They happen rarely (but do still happen). What bothers me is the ingrained 'casual' racism pretty much everybody I know exhibits. Seriously, work mates, family, university... So many people who think whites are better, but don't think that thought process is directly racist.

Weird.

When i was about 10 years old. and i had just moved to a new neghibourhood and some super strict christ lovers asked me to come over after school so did and when we were just talking and how was school soon after a bit of small talking the mother randomly asked me how i think the world was made. me being the smart kid i am i said about monkeys and fish and then she asked me how i thought black people are made and i said well i dont know she then told me some story from the bibile saying that they were made because a boy was being mean to his dad so god punished him by turnig him black. And they were going on how it is a punishment i run out of the house not saying anything.

Its been 5 years and i havent said anything and they still live right next to me

ps:sorry about bad grammar

I live in working class England, and used to live near Scotland. I also know a lot of white South Africans and Australians. Any day I don't feel the heavy atmosphere of xenophobia, bigotry and racial intolerance is a good day.

We have two major racist groups at the moment who are gaining significant popularity, the BNP and the EDL (and Scotland have the SNP, which has a lot of support too, but has a slightly milder stance). The rising popularity of these groups is the most shocking and saddening thing. I really want to jump over to the continent, cut the anchor, and let Britain float off so it can live it's miserable existence of hatred alone, away from normal people. You're all welcome to join me on the other side!

I get harassed by a group of "skin heads" at my college every so often because I am a LEGAL immigrant living in the USA. Apparently I'm "non entitled" to the education that I'm paying for because I'm taking a space that "belongs" to an American citizen, or something. They're idiots, though, so they're easy to deal with with reason.
What's a ***** is when Border Patrol pull me over, which they do on a reasonably regular basis. I'm just gonna get this out of the way,

FUCK YOU, BORDER PATROL.

Yeah, they're dicks and they give me a hard time for being an immigrant all the time. They've searched my car about 3 times this year, and pull me over for no good reason several times a week. Because they're dicks. I'm not even going to go into the stupid bullshit reasons they give me for why they do it, but that's what the new Arizona immigration law allows these xenophobic bastards to do.
Fuck the law and fuck the border cops.

The worst case of racism (with malice) that I've witnessed was a little thing called the Cronulla Riots.

The initial spark involved a group of Lebanese Australians assaulting some volunteer surf lifesavers. The witty response to this involved a mob riot on Cronulla beach by a pack of loud mouthed racists.

The outcome featured the bashing of anybody who didn't look "right" i.e. white.

Basically it can be summarised with the slogan "get out of my country".

Sad stuff.

I prefer the other kind of racism that is really just race based "ribbing".

Ferinstance, I often accuse a Polish friend of mine of only being my friend so he can sneak into my house and steal my tractor plough and he accuses me of just wanting to pillage his home and steal his vodka.

Which is only half true.

Racism is great stuff when there's no malicious intent, which makes something like Drawn Together funny as hell, but the Holocaust scary as fuck.

How do I describe the last 20 years of my life? I can make a shortlist and you can be the judge of what was worse.

I've lost 5 jobs because of my black person status (they usually just n-word me.... a lot, and calling me buckwheat is also popular around here)
I was assaulted in high school (again, lots of n-words... bottles and rocks were thrown, and not shit was done about it by faculty member or local law enforcement)
I've been ejected from church... (not as much n-wording)
I've been ejected from places of business (very little n-wording, but my "kind" was not permitted)
I've been refused service at a restaurant (also a bar, but at least the owner was willing to call me n-words to my face, the restaurant manager was another of those "we don't serve your kind" people)
I won't even go into what my family life has been like, but let's just say one of my parents was not above making remarks about me either
I get harassed often when in public, which is why I'm a shut-in now, have been for most of these last two decades.
I've been n-worded by local police, so if something happens to me I don't exactly feel safe looking to them for help.
Little children have n-worded me.... that one stung a lot more than usual, though you never quite get used to it, even after all these years
I can disguise being half-black, and I generally do that as much as I can, but on occasion questions arise and I answer honestly, even knowing the consequences will usually be pretty goddamn negative. My favorite was a white girl I dated briefly that stated that the only kind of men she wanted to be with were whites only. I knew my future was not with her, but then this is not uncommon where I live, so I just sort of went with it for that final date (yes, it was the final date that she'd said that).
Friends have questioned whether or not I really consider myself a black person, treating it like an unfortunate condition. They aren't friends anymore, not all because of this, but it happens a lot here.
I was refuse employment because I revealed I was black to potential employers, who would upon finding out show me the door saying they were no longer interested in hiring, or "we just don't need your kind of trouble".
Friends have refused to be in public places with me because I am black, so I was sort of a secret for them.

I really could go on and on, but I think this should be enough to choose from. You tell me, which is worse? Which one of these has left me with clinically diagnosed debilitating disorders.

For me this growing collage of personal experiences has sort of melted into two very simple schools of thought; I am ethnically inferior to anyone that is not black and white, and that the state I live in will always be hell.

And before anyone suggests I leave explain how I do that when I can't hold down a job long enough to make money and move....

Apologies for typos, but this thread upsets me, and writing this the first time was hard enough.
O_O ::hugs:: I'll sponsor you...move to L.A. People will think your accent is cool.

Well the worst racism I ever encountered actually shaped my perception on race equality, and so forth, and it's probably the reason why I hate it when people throw the word RACIST around.

I grew up living literally next door to "Wetback Power", and just a few blocks away, and my sister WAS a member of the "Fourth Reich Neo-Nazi" movement in Phoenix AZ. I once saw the aftermath of a shooting (close range with a shotgun. It's looks worse than you can possibly fucking imagine it really really does. It was a warning from the Neo-Nazis to my sister) and I was around 7-8 when I had my life threatened by a FUCKING 6 YEAR OLD<-(WBP), because I was white and he fucking meant it, and would do it.
Soooo yeah I grew up around a lot of shit.

I have not encountered a lot of racism but I cannot, no matter how hard I think about it, understand it. I what way does the colour of a persons skin make them better or worse than someone else with a different skin colour. It just does not make any sense. The same gos for religion. I happen to be an atheist and although I cannot understand how anyone can believe in a benevolent higher power (just watch the news) that does not mean they are better than me or I am better than they. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND!!!!

i have a few black friends and they call me ****** all the time. i just got used to saying it and now i don't find it a bad thing. if someone walked around calling people niggers then i would just assume they were friends.

off topic: someone on first page said "old people are adorable" i cannot stand them. i might have just had bad luck but two of my three grandparents and all the other old people i know expect others o do everything for them when they are perfectly capable. Im not talking about just grabbing the mail for them or something i mean they (my grandparents) have called me to walk over to the shop get a thing of milk and walk the next 2k to there house and then back home. i understand that not all of them are like this but it seems like a lot of them are. i do however have one that i like very much so he gives me hope that i won't turn out like that.

Worst i've experienced is a black guy being really nasty and really racist to white people saying we're all racist and evil people yet NOBODY called him out on being a racist himself because he was black.

I don't get racism, skin colour is hardly important.
