The worst racism I've personally experienced? I've been called the N-word by people who've only heard my voice - apparently my accent sounds "black".

In what context did you live to pickup an accent that somehow would give someone that idea?

One time someone told me, jokingly, that I "need to be more racist" after I gave them a detailed description of someone, and only mentioned their race as an afterthought.

That's what I do as well, and I've found strange that when describing some black person, they would go: "You know, the black guy."

I would be: "... which one?".

This is very common and very weird, because it rarely ever helps for me to know just who the hell they are talking about.

It is very bad, actually. Making fun instead of helping does show who is the smarter one.

But I'm sometimes amazed how a lot of people are fortunate (or not) for being isolated from such terrible displays of ignorant hatred. The world might not be so small after all.

The white entertainment networks are just called "networks." One of the advantages of being in the ethnic majority is that the bulk of entertainment is produced with you in mind. That's why complaints about how there oughta be "white this" and "white that" look so ridiculously insecure.

That also applies to college programs that give some sort of support for other races and similar projects.

I find that many white people asking this kind of question about this are not being racist and are providing a genuine doubt that deserves a genuine answer. That right there is just about right.

well i've encountered a bit of it - mainly aimed at my wife.

the worst was from my former boss who said that she was just after my money and that she would sleep with anyone because she was just a ****** (editing some words out that i don't want repeated) filipino girl.

we as a couple encounter this and can laugh at it most times but that crossed a line.
and we laugh at it because shes from a very rich family and i am from a very poor family etc etc.

anywho thats my rant.

I apologize for not reading your entire post, but you have to admit that the your first sentence is a major turn-off for someone looking for open-minded perspectives on the internet, which by definition are hard to come by.

I get harassed by a group of "skin heads" at my college every so often because I am a LEGAL immigrant living in the USA. Ummm no it doesn't, read the law. What you need to do is document every stop and search and establish a pattern of harassment which if what you say is true then thats really damned easy. You can easily nail cops and BP with 4th amendment violations especially if you have multiple stops that amount to nothing.

My friend had his ankle broken for having the nerve to be black.
He was trying to join myself and a few other guys in a club when a bouncer shoved him back and curbstomped his foot.

We know it was racially motivated because the bouncer saw him with us and still refused him. He was the only black guy in the group and actually the most sober among us. He wasn't even coming in to drink, he was coming in to tell us he was going to wait in the car. He fucking said as much to the bouncer.

He's pressing charges, and there were security cameras everywhere so he's bound to get justice. Still, leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

After a while, one gets very tired of plowing through bigoted posts on the net to get to good content. A mistake happened for this, of course. But not without motive.

The same can be said of minorities who turn out to act racist towards white people. It's mostly born out of frustation... excluding those who are just plain ignorant.

For me this growing collage of personal experiences has sort of melted into two very simple schools of thought; I am ethnically inferior to anyone that is not black and white, and that the state I live in will always be hell.

From the examples you give, sounds mostly like you're expected to feel inferior to anyone who is not white. In point of fact, I didn't say this and hardly anyone ever does; that's another moronic "poor oppressed white man" cliche. Saying that many complaints about "black racism" turn out to be spurious, or defensive reactions to hearing a black person mention that racism exists (and/or attempts to shut down discussion of white racism by attempting, often lamely, to play misery poker), has nothing to do with claiming there's "no such thing as black racism." Pull the other one.

In Ireland, some people are quite racist. Mainly for immigration reasons and them worrying about taking jobs. It's terribly tough over there and it's 10x as hard to find a job there than it is in the US. I was there in January and my dad's friend has in Irish flag on his taxi to signify he's Irish and white.

i feel very victimized for not being bilingual and being a white male in my country. i am frequently passed up for job opportunities to a less qualified person so the company can fill race quotas, and frequently harassed over not being able to speak both official languages, when the other person could simply speak English when they are bilingual themselves.

OT: A black friend of mine got called a ****** once, that's honestly about it. I've heard people express some rather interesting view points, or make some cringe-worthy comments, but those sorts of things are born from ignorance rather then actual racism.

Another time we were walking home pissed from a party (same friend), this guy (also drunk, bit of a chav) comes up and asks my my mate for a light, my mate says "no" and carries on walking, so this guy starts saying "who do you think you fucking are?" etc.

My friend starts telling him to fuck off (he's quite an angry drunk xD At another party someone once said he was going to headbutt me as a joke, my friend overheard when he was standing next to me and started offering him out), and then this guy starts asking him where he's from. I was pretty sure that was going to lead somewhere racist so I stopped the guy mid-sentence, but I can't say for definite.

Really, there's not much racism where I live. In the county, possibly (of the ignorant but not genuinely hateful variety), but not in the actual city.
