Ape Escape on the loose Yeah I know its not a sequel but fuck'em. They completely cocked up a great game with voiceing and controls.

That makes me think there's an argument to say that Singularity is its own incredibly bad sequel... somehow...

Crysis - This game was the true sequel to Far Cry; had many more similarities to the original Far Cry than Far Cry 2 did, but with even more retarded gameplay, cheap-ass enemies, and a worse plot-line, believe it or not. This game served no purpose but to show off a pretty graphics engine.

As already noted, Red Dead Redemption isn't a true sequel to Revolver.

Also, its an awesome game. Oddly enough, some of the stuff I didnt like about it was pretty much why I didn't like GTAIV

Dark Reign 2....What you've never heard of Dark Reign? Shame on you! But no, I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard of the sequel it is truly hideous.

Red faction 2 was another major letdown, for all the amazing destructibility and story in the first game you get a crappy knock off sequel who's destruction elements are barely used. ( I recall needing them TWICE the whole campaign, once for a kind of "tutorial" to blast out a a cubicle thing and later to find a hidden stash which you probably would never find otherwise (most walls AREN'T destructible, but one arbitrary one IS and it has some stuff behind it.))

Mercenaries 2 was a minor letdown, but a few good elements saved it from the scrappy heap.

Finally a lot of rehashed franchises that carry on to long generally suck (crash/spyro, Silent hill (ewwww), every sports game ever etc)

Red Dead Redemption...
?? why do you say such things?
(speaking through vault intercom)

It just felt so... barren. The story was great, but Rockstar just doesn't get the point of a sandbox game. The game just became a routine of taking extremely long horse rides from one point to another just to get into yet another gunfight. And lots of shooting (and only shooting) would be fine if it wasn't a sandbox game.
But you have to understand that is what the old west was like(and in some places still is) You wouldn't see people everywhere. Just vistas and the occasional animals.
While I enjoyed Red Dead, haven't finished it yet, just play it at my friends, my problem already is that most of the time we aren't rewarded, and if we are we could've gotten that reward easier by playing the story... Now see, I think in a sandbox you need to give people a lot of reasons to explore the world and stuff. The maps were a cool idea, they needed more side missions, and more of those title things. And I want to get stuff that I couldn't otherwise. It's really annoying to spend an hour doing random shit, get a gun, then find a few missions later I would have picked it up anyway.
So yeah, I kinda agree. Certainly I enjoyed it, that just disappointed me...
As for me... Unreal Tournament 3. It's... fun. But it killed so much. It honestly seems developed for console gamers before PC. Which is just stupid. I haven't finished the story, I just stick to multiplayer. At least there's some cool stuff in there, even if they took out more than they put in.

Game: pick a recent Sonic, or Mega Man, or any other rape of a classic character.
Movie: Battle Royale 2: Chinkonka. This movie is as bad as the first one is amazing.
Thank you for the advice. I've got Battle Royale in my Netflix queue already. I'll movie it up but avoid the 2nd one.

I have heard there are Sonic titles ( the werewolf one ) that are nearly broken. That is sad. But Sonic Battle 2 for the Gamecube is one of my all time favorites. I'm glad they made it.

Others are writing about Halo 3, Red Redemption and X-2:

Halo 3 was not as good as 1 and 2, but still, better than ODST so far.

I haven't played Redemption, but kind of can tell what others find disappointing. Loved Revolver, but Redemption looks like a GTA 4 snooze fest.

X-2: I blushed for about 1/2 an hour playing that, hoping no one saw me doing so, and quietly sold it back to gamestop. I mean... non-stop singing, giggly girls putting on multi outfits? Really?????

I'm going to need a flame proof bunker as well.

Resident Evil 4 & 5. I'll admit I'm not the worlds biggest Resident Evil fan to begin with, but the old ones made me laugh and also surprisingly genuinely freaked me out simply because while the events and zombies weren't all that scary the shitty controls actually made it very intense and it at least freaked me out in the manner of actually simulating what it would be like to be a human with only moderate training and it WAS intense to have to drive Jill the tank and get the feeling of running from some monster. Resident Evil 4 & 5 failed to capture that feeling; plus even on their own merits, even if they called it something else; I don't like them for their gameplay. Some of the art design is cool on the mutants; especially the head parasites; but otherwise they're just boring third person shooters and the biggest crime is that they don't scare me. I do admit that actually having the content itself be scary would be cool, but it isn't so it didn't work out.

I wanted to list Deus Ex: Invisible War, but truth be told it still was a lot of fun for me even if it didn't blow my socks off sky high like the original.

Those do not look like games (except for DM2... which I heard sucked), but, I had high hopes for Robocop 2. I am a BIG Frank Miller fan. He alone kept me reading comic books into the mid 1980s...after that it was Alan Moore... and he wrote the script for Robocop 2 and got the pacing wrong, and it was far too ugly to watch. I was crushed.

KotOR 2. Then again it was made by obsidian.
THIS! this forever!
God, I felt violated while playing it!
Used the entire first game to save the jedi order (played mr: nicerevan) and then they all get fucking wiped in a trap? Admiral Ackbar would be ashamed!

I hope to god Obsidian don't fuck up Fallout: New vegas as well. but they have more history and better relations to the fallout series. right guys? ... right?

Red Dead Redemption...
I wouldn't say it was the Worst sequel ever, but it wasn't anything out of the ordinary by activision standards. quite avarage I say, and like you I prefered Revolver.

Sir, do they sell tickets to your world?
I want to ask the mayor there what is wrong with him!
As mister Squarez said: Say whaat?
The old fallouts were great, but they were an all diferent genre, they were basically point and click adventure games! with a little piece of action adventure! Fallout 3 is an RPG/FPS something far superior, by mine opinion.

The biggest mistake is that they tried to emulate Paul Verhoeven's directing and they failed miserably.

And what the hell was the deal with Louis's fucking perm? It made her look like shit.

There's a few honourable mentions:

MW 2
Deus Ex 2
Fable 2
Crackdown 2, the laziest sequel in history.

But for me, most annoying of all, Halo 3. After how fantastic the second one was to just not bother at all doing anything with the series was terrible. ODST did not happen, it just didn't. Rubbish.

Resistance 2. The first was Awesome, then they got rid of the co-op campaign, which really bugged me and my mate because that's the reason we'd got it. I wasn't so much because of the storyline, because that was still good.

Also the New Kane and Lynch, didn't hold anything to the first one.
