Worst Stereotype Character

Uber-tough, Amazon warrior , chicks who murder men constantly, but still insist on dressing in skin tight leather. I think the entire shtick for female lead characters has become more of a social disease than anything. Female lead characters never seem to leave stereotype anymore: grizzled, bad-ass, soldier women who, although they look hot, may as well have a penis between their legs.

I really don't see how that stereotype is better that the character mold of Princess Leia: assertive; but submissive when necessary
courageous; but never reckless or arrogant about it
feminine; but not trashy with it
gifted; but willing to allow other gifted people do their thing
**I put those in that order for a reason, btw**

The only other female lead characters I can think of like the Leia mold are Pepper Potts and Lois Lane

As I've stated before (on a different thread), I hate the domineering female types and the manginas whose sole purpose is to let them be dominant.
Now that I think about it, I hate everybody who has something to prove. I'd say stereotypes or not, but the need to prove something corrupts like the One Ring, and all fall to its stereotyping force.

Dante- I kinda Disagree with that, considering most of the usual ensemble of characters who wear trenchcoats, and carry iconic weapons of sorts. Also known as, the whiny emo bastards who are so focused on "Woe Am I" more then anything in the world, Dante was something of a breath of fresh air by being a smug, overconfident joker who was more then ready to laugh right in the face of the prince of darkness.

Granted, you don't have to like him and he isn't for everyone..but i don't really think he's all that much of a stereotype.

How about the space alien who A: Speaks English and is psychologically very similar to humans, or B: Is inexplicably hostile to all human life.

Like other stereotypes, these space alien stereotypes allow directors to lazily rehash old characters without the possibility of new, distinct plots coming along as a possibility. District 9 and Avatar took some steps towards making aliens that are alien, but psychologically, both of these films depict aliens that could be considered subgroups of humanity. Three Worlds Collide [http://lesswrong.com/lw/y4/three_worlds_collide_08/], though its human characters are repulsively unlikeable, is probably the best example of a story dealing with alien psychology.

It gets annoying, not because of the overuse, but because it's generally annoying even when it's an actual Christian republican.

Pretty much anytime the Griffins or the Simpsons go to any other part of the world aside from Quaohog and Springfield. I'm kinda suprised especially at the Simpsons for stooping as low as racial stereotypes, things like the Japan episode, Australia episode, England episode. We get it, these people in [insert Country here] are indeed from [insert Country here], that's not an excuse for stereotypes I'd expect to see in 1930's-1950's films.

Family Guy is especially guilty of this, I'm not sure if they are going for spoofing the stereotypes, sarcasm, or playing up the stereotype because they can't think of any real jokes. This doesn't just apply to Family Guy and the Simpsons, many tv shows and films still insist on doing this. Guhh...Make it stop please...As this mini rant draws to a close, please tv/film makers, try researching and realisitcally showing us a place/race rather then falling back on offensive stereotyping. I find a show much funnier/interesting if they very accuratly show what real places/people are like, not material that was considered out-of-date around the 1960's. Either pull your finger out and write real jokes or don't bother at all.
