A friend of a friend changed their PARTNER'S relationship status on facebook without telling them they were split up.

But seriously.. Hm. Being told, after dating for a week (talking mostly online) then only hooking up once, that things won't work. Then finding out that she's dating the guy that called her during the night.

Apart from that, I'm guessing SMS would be pretty friggin' terrible.

The worst place would be 30 minutes into a 12 hour plane journey.

On a full plane.

at 30,000 feet.

Cheating with an orgy, in front of the guy. While screaming obsanities. >.>
I've seen that before. Actually, I was in on it. That poor bastard almost drank himself to death that night. It was probably for the best anyway because she obviously didn't care at all for him. The rest of the night was spent sobering him up and helping him not die.

The worst break-up I've ever seen was one that lasted two years. It was one of those; "Technically not dating anymore but can't seem to move on things". I was witness to some of the most venomous spite I have ever seen; I didn't know a screaming match could continue non-stop for four hours. It got to the point where neither of them had had a date in a year and my friend was thinking about moving. I don't know why but for some idiotic reason they kept apologizing and trying to be friends again.

I'd say that's the worst when "dumping" is so drawn out that it destroys your love/social life for a year and a half.

Not only have I never been broken up with face to face, but the weirdest (not to painful*, though) was when she had her next boyfriend come up and tell me. Like, he actually had to come over and tell me face to face like she couldn't.

Luckily for me, my english teacher rocks, and when I introduced her to him he said "Why did you break up with him? Did you think you'd get somebody better?" (Her afterwards: "I don't like him. He makes my head hurt from thinking.")

*She was making her way through the whole school, and the relationship was beyond not meant to be.

I was once dumped over the phone through a friend.

Sucked at the time but its pretty funny now that I look back at it.

My best friend had a pretty bad one:

We were at a festival, having fun, drinking beer, smoking weed (Netherlands, it's legal, you federal agencies!). My best friend's girlfriend had a bit too much of the sauce and proceeded to get very friendly with everyone at our campsite on the camping ground, including me. I wasn't having any of it though, contrary to two other good friends of ours who were stoned and drunk out of their minds. She kissed both of them right in front of my best friend's face, then proceeded to tell my best friend she just wanted to be friends.

He was broken for the rest of the day. I felt terrible for him. His entire day at the festival-and his relationship of course- was completely ruined. One of the few he was able to keep going for a little while.

Luckily afterwards we both agreed that the ruined festival day was the worst of the two.

Making it seem like an automated e-mail.
"You can't reply to this e-mail. Your boyfriend, Queen Michael, has decided to break up with you."

I think I posted here before, but I had a girlfriend shove a loaded handgun in my ear once...

Afterwards she claimed it was "just a test" and not an attempt to break up with me or turn my head into swiss cheese... riiiight.

You know, if what she claimed was actually the case, that's a bigger sign of madness (Madness? THIS IS SPARTA!) than if she just wanted to kill you.

My friend's girlfriend broke up with him over Facebook. On her relationship status update.
What about the fellow who declared he wanted a divorce on Facebook. Ha.
haha, i heard about that, its kinda sad really. cant do it face to face, so they do it over facebook/text.

still kinda funny.
When I was in high school a drumline buddy of mine was dumped, by his girlfriend of 8 months, via e-mail. Even he was joking about it. Pretty much everyone in band ostracized her for the ***** move.

By fax.

Not only is it old and outdated and rubbish, it's so slow that the person would see 'you're dumped' in big bold type emerging in slow motion.

Also, the noise would be annoying. eeeeggggeeeeegggggg

I was dumped while staring over a bridge, but by far the worst I've dreamt up was being broken up with through pixel art created over Farmville (a popular social network game).
