Depends. Have you looked into upcoming releases? Do you think that there is more must have exclusives coming your way?

I bought a PS3 so I could play God of War 3, I feel that it was well worth the money because I love the GoW (that's not gears of war) franchise and often get endless hours of replay-ability out of its games. That's not to say I'm going to let the PS3 collect dust once I'm done with it, no that's just silly. I plan to pick up Little Big Planet and possibly FF13. I also took into account that KH3 will most likely be released on the PS3.

As of right now the only game I've got for it is God of War 3, do I think the $400+ I spent was worth it? Hell yes I think it was worth it and if I feel I've gotten my money's worth then that's all that matters. (please note I didn't just have the cash for this fly out of my ass at will I've been saving for quite awhile in preparation for GoW3's release)

In my opinion, yes, I bought my PS3, never played on it until several months when Heavy Rain. And yeah, that game is the reason I believe you can buy a console for just one game.

A word of warning, Its expensive though.

Well, on one hand, no PS3 exclusive will ever come to PC. On the other, less and less 360 exclusives are doing so. On the mutant third hand, Games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age are better on PC than on their 360 counterparts.

Fable was decent, but not worth getting a 360 for. God of War 3 is great, but it doesn't exactly have high replayability.

Well, it all depends on circumstance. Like tomorrow, i am buying a DS so i can get pokemon XD
Totally worth it considering i'm getting the DS for £40
If i were you however, i would just buy more pc games.

It's most definitely not worth getting a system for a single game. Just stick with PC because most major titles are released on PC anyways.

I wouldn't get a console for one game, or even a handful. If games you want to play are consistently being made as console only then maybe then think about it. That seems to be the way things are going. Any game on a console is better on a PC anyway. I wanted to play that one on PS3, but I guess it's only ps3. Heavy Rain or Hard Rain.. Something with rain, I've heard alot about it.

YES i like buying consoles on the sole premise of "a" game, and its obvious that if you like "one" game in that console you will enjoy the others as well

(IMHO)the PS3 had MGS4, the XBOX 360 had Halo 3, the WII had Mario Galaxy and the PC had WOW (or any Valve game)

now would you say those are the only ones that you would buy the console for?? well, they are the Flag ship of a whole bunch of games that you might enjoy, Its "stupid" to buy one console and then just one game, but its an investment if you buy several other games for that console.

You never played Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast :D

Not that it was the only game worth owning a Dreamcast for, mind you.

If you've got the money, then go for it. But you'll probably want to get more than just one game down the line, there a lot of great exclusives for consoles that you will probably want to check out.

If you do buy the system surely at some point you'll say "hey that game looks pretty awesome I'd prefer to use a joypad for that control scheme". On a personal note There is no universe in all of the layers of reality where the douche from fable can even look upon Kratos. Kratos would dispatch him with a look. A LOOK!

A million times, this
Pretty much my thoughts but you won't just get one game, don't be ridiculous. There are years left in this gen and you will buy other games.

God of War III is kinda tempting me to get a PS3 but I still havent beaten Bayonetta,Fallout 3 or the half-life games on the orange box, I got really distracted by No more Heroes 2 and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days.

Fallout 3 lead me to finally decide a PS3. At that time my computer wasn't an amazing superpowered machine anymore (it had at one point), and I didn't feel like ordering the parts when I had a big ol' TV that wasnt really being put to use. And, this generation of console market had finally fleshed out so I got a PS3 and Fallout ( I bought the game twice) and don't mind my purchase after getting games like Demon's Souls and MAG. So, technically I did buy the console for one game, but I did my research in knowing about the system and what it can do and the games for it.
