No-one knows how much you'll enjoy the game so they can only speak from their own perspective. It is a lot of money for one thing, but if you get your money's worth, then naturally it was worth it.

PS3 is also a blu-ray DVD player and has lots of other games for it.

But as a platform for a single game, that game had better be unbelievably good, and God of War 3 only lasts but a few hours. I suppose you could be rich so the money is less important to us plebians.

If its for Gran Turismo and you are a major petrol head then a I'd say a Hell Yes!. I mysleff are one of those people who could sit there for 3 hours straight at the same track just trying to beat my best lap time. As for any other game, they can only last so long.

Uh, no not ever? Actually at this point you could a 64 perfect dark and the RAM pack for about $70. So that would be worth it. Or get Goldeneye.

Only if you plan on selling the system afterward. the rate that blockbuster charges to rent a console is absofuckinglutely ridiculous, which i guess has it's meaning, but if you buy the console used, then rent the game instead of buying it, then resell it on craigslist or ebay, you only stand to lose anywhere from 30-100 dollars.

Also, about your game selection...i find it interesting. God of War III is just more of god of war II, and if you liked fable, then you have no reason to play fable II. there are very few differences, but overall, i liked the first one more.

ah, but how probable is it you're buying the console for ONLY one game? Surely there's something out there that may catch your eye?

No its not. For instance, I just watched GOW3 played through on youtube, rather than get a PS3 or find someone with one. Its not just limited to console games, I watched a play-through of Mewtwo so I wouldn't have to waste my money on it.

In my opinion it's NEVER worth buying a system for just one game.
same here.

dont let yourself be scammed into the schemes of these money making machines. you have a gaming-able laptop, that is invenstment enough. the game developpers developping games or even sequel games only for consoles are in fact blackmailing you. hold out on them. keep sending them e-mails, keep nagging them. complain in forems.

maybe one day, goliaths will learn, that david can bring them down

There is no console with just one good game, maybe a specific game convinced you to buy the console but there are plenty of others that will be purchased. Nobody could be that picky with their games.

If you're buying the console only for exclusives, I'd suggest a PS3. Most games on the 360 (Excluding Halo 3 and Fable 2) are usually on the PC aswell.

YES i like buying consoles on the sole premise of "a" game, and its obvious that if you like "one" game in that console you will enjoy the others as well

(IMHO)the PS3 had MGS4, the XBOX 360 had Halo 3, the WII had Mario Galaxy and the PC had WOW (or any Valve game)

now would you say those are the only ones that you would buy the console for?? well, they are the Flag ship of a whole bunch of games that you might enjoy, Its "stupid" to buy one console and then just one game, but its an investment if you buy several other games for that console.
you know what's funny, I have all 3 consoles and only MGS4, if I bought a gaming PC I wouldn't buy WoW.

Technically I bought my Wii for Zelda and...my 360 cause it was cheaper and all my mates had one (still not got any xbox flagship title)

I have a pretty good laptop that can play most of the current generations games, however the ones i want the most are exclusive to consoles. Im considering whether or not its worth buying an Xbox 360 for Fable 2 and/or buying a ps3 for the God of war series.

I'd really only be buying for the exclusives as most other games are also offered for PC and I prefer it on my more portable laptop.

I have fable 1 for the PC and really enjoyed the Morality feature in the game. Ive been waiting for a Fable 2 PC port since the game was released, but now 2 years later theres still no word on a release. No spoilers please..but is the game as good as im expecting it to be? Is it worth buying the entire system for it?

Ive heard only good things about the God of war franchise and might go this route if I dont go for fable 2. Then again both consoles are fairly old at this point, and I read many games look better on the pc these days, so I'd only be doing it for the exclusives. Its worth pointing out that my game play in fable 1 lead me to realize the joys of an evil bad ass, and whos more evil and bad ass than the Kratos?

Lastly I might buy neither the xbox or the ps3 and just dig around for good pc games. Im looking for quality RPGs with morality systems. Doing research Ive stumbled upon Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Mass effect 1 and 2, fallout 3, bioshock 1 and 2 and dragons age origins.

I havent played any of these games, so maybe i should just save money and go though these first on my pc? If I go this route which ones should I play first?

What would you guys do?
Recommendations?
Well, to answer your question, if you asked me "Fable 2 or GoW series?", first I'd laugh, then I'd ask if you are serious, then answer "GoW". As for your comment on graphics, it's true that the PC has better graphics on multiplatform games and it's true that of course current PC's are more powerful than the consoles, but it's also true that you won't find a game on the PC that is as good looking as GoW3. No, not even Crysis.
