Would a MW2 hater enjoy BC2?

So to sound like a total cockhead I'm sorta a COD 4 veteran. I played it way too much, did gamebattles, all that stuff. I knew it would happen, and sure enough Modern Warfare 2 came with enough gimmicks to choke Sasha Grey. The only changes I wanted from the multiplayer of the first game were to have no more M16 and to make bullets and the camera come out of your gun and face respectively, not the top of your head. So in summary, would someone who hates the ease of playing like a total ***** in MW2 enjoy the multiplayer of BC2? I've read reviews and such but it seems like every reviewer likes to s so much Call of Duty d that I don't trust any of 'em.

I can enjoy both, and at the same time both can piss me off. But I think BC2 is better balanced, so if you enjoy balance, I think you would like it.

Takes more teamwork and works a bit more smoothly I've found, doesn't lag as much, has pretty balanced vehicles and classes and is overall a worthwhile game to give a look at.

If you hated MW2 for being too easy to kill (seconded) you will likely enjoy BC2's system since it takes more bullets to kill and snipers will only one hit kill with a headshot or at point blank.

Give the single player of BC2 a miss and check out the multiplayer

Well, if you liked past battlefield games BC2 doesn't really stray too far from the whole battlefield formula. I like the BF series a lot as it rewards and encourages teamwork.

What was wrong with the M16 it only fired in bursts? Also if you like Battlfefield games then it is a good choice. It is extremely different from CoD however, so bear that in mind while getting. You would think they are similar since they are similar themed but they are worlds apart.

For any good player the M16 is a 1 shot kill a large majority of the time... From over 9000 miles away. There's a reason it was nicknamed the laser rifle.

Because you can get spawn raped in new and different ways, being spawn raped from the enemy spawn.

I used to play a lot of CoD4, in BF2 there's a lot of change in skills and tactics. Like getting used to aiming up all the time, and taking half a day to knife someone.

If the only thing you didn't like MW2 for was the M16, then I would think so.

BC2 is a tad bit slower and requires more then just running and gunning, plus, you can't just run around with a Sniper and an Assault Rifle. Every class has its drawbacks so its kinda like playing TF2.

I'd recommend it.

As a fellow CoD4 Vet, I hated MW2's gameplay. I got into the BC2 beta (PC) on the first day and played for 8 hours straight and many more hours each day after (the beta had one map. That's how much I liked it). I was in love. Now with all the patches and a large majority of the crybaby MW2 players gone (gravity is something they can't handle) it's a much better game from when it was released. Teams 8 times out of 10 (my totally made up stat) seem to actually work together to reach the goal of the map.

The biggest "gripe" I've heard from a lot of other seasoned CoD4 players is the lack of strafe running (ability to sprint and strife at the same time, you have to use your mouse to aim your run). Again, like previously suggested, you should rent it first if you're planning on playing on a console. I could write a massive wall of text laying out the pros and cons but I'm sure you're not looking for that =P

Oh, I guess I should throw in that there's no Onslaught mode for the PC (and might not be. They're "investigating" the possibility of adding it).

Does BF:BC2 have no vehicle mode because I hate having to compete against vehicles in a game a soldier.

Every game has it's exploits and cheap little tactics, so it really just depends on which ones you're willing to put up with the most.

On the bright side, you won't have to deal with knife-snipers in Bad Company 2.

If you play in the 4v4v4v4 Squad mode there's only one vehicle on the map. But don't think that controlling the vehicle means your squad will win. They're quite simple to destroy if you or your squad isn't paying attention.

They might enjoy BC2 or they might not.

For me BC2 is just gold, specially when playing in Rush mode.

I have never ever heard it called the laser rifle and it is not for lack of time spent on the game. Also every single rifle can basically do that. In fact the the M14 is better at it than the M16. Also the M16 really falls short in close range and is only truly suited to mid range and with practise long range. Even with the long range you are banking on the possibility that the person is good with the weapon. All in all it is not a weapon that needs balancing.

Huh, well Battlefield 2 is an older game PC game, and you have to "switch" to the knife and then swing.

Battlefield Bad Company 2, on the other hand has a very satisfying and quick knife, with, too me at least, more responsive aiming and movement than MW2.

I'd check if the demo is still up, although you may not like the map, they included the only bad one on the demo to weed out those who don't really like it, I guess.

It depends on the reason you dislike MW2. If you dislike MW2 because it's unrealistic/unbalanced/not as good as CoD4, then you probably will like BC2. If you dislike MW2 because it's a modern shooter which tries too hard to be realistic, then no.

BC2 actually makes you work for your overpowered weapons instead of getting instant gratification. It starts very slow and gets easier as you figure it out and get better gear. I'd say it's funner that MW2 and a lot harder.
