Would you be able to stop playing games for an entire year?

I think i could. I'd probably focus (even) more on pen&paper rpg's and board games. Not saying it would be easy though =D

Most likely, yes.

I'd need an incentive first, I can't just tell myself to stop playing games for a year. I'd probably convince myself to learn an instrument and get really good at it.

But yeah, I've gone for months at a time without playing a game and rarely even wanting too. It's like most other things that I like in my life, I'll just find something else to replace it.

I think it'd be possible.

I'd probably re-read a lot of my books, NETFLIX, and... get a head start on school.

I would if I had plenty of anime. I've been a lot more into anime than gaming lately, despite having a ton of games to play. Good games too, including Red Dead Redemption and Infamous.

Unfortunately, no. I already had all of my games taken away from me for 2 months as punishment when I was 15 and I could barely survive that. It just goes to show that telling people to stop playing games will usually put them in a worse state, contrary to what soccer moms think. I have staved off for days at a time simply because I've been extremely busy, and that makes sense. But if something is enjoyable, why should we have to stop doing it for no reason?

No.

I can survive sometime with gameplay videos but 1 week or more without games equals me being very grumpy >=/

Well, the first thing I would do would be get my gun license and go by the nearest gun store to get a gun able to get past a man's skull and some ammo for it....

Yeah.

EDIT: Nah, I could. Pretty grumpily and very boredly, but I have other things I could do.

This falls to me, under the heading of "Yes I can, but I would not enjoy it."

I can go a year without video games but that means I need something else to do like... Survive? Out in the wilderness, and all of that jazz. If I'm just sitting here I've got no reason to bore myself to death.

I've done no console or PC games for nearly a year for the sheer fact that i just wasn't into any at the time. Also having a child really deletes a lot of gaming time...or at least comfortable, more than 15 mins of gaming time.

But no, I couldn't give up chess or sudoku, or the games I got on my phone.

Depending on what's at stake, I might be able to, but it will make me and people around me suffer for it.

At least I will have a crap-load of stuff to play when I do get back into it. That is, in my jail cell, since I would have murdered at least 3 house pets and 2 people in the process.

Oh dear God-Emperor no. No no no no! I could barely keep it together during the time PSN was down and I have a computer, laptop and 360!
