Would you buy a Call of Duty game if you got to play as a Nazi?

I know we're all fed up with W.W.2 games but after the lukewarm controversy in Modern Warfare 2 it might serve well to really fuck with the player and have some missions playing as a Nazi. Imagine the first mission, black and white schindlers list style to start out, you walk through the concentration camp following your commander. He takes you to a prisoner and the game forces you to execute him. It might be dark but I guarantee it'll sell faster than free £20 notes.

I wouldn't buy a CoD game just because I could play as a nazi and I'd rather play as a normal german soldier rather then a full-scaled nazi.

Don't know what else to say. If the gameplay looks good and the campaign is long enough for the price, yeah I would buy it, nazis or not.

The whole "being a Nazi" thing isn't extremely controversy worthy. You're taking the reigns of ze germans in any number of game's multi player modes anyway. But the concentration camp thing? That's a bit much.

Not only would there be a gigantic controversy, but there's a reason the only purpose Germans serve in video games is to get shot. Reading up on German war crimes is already insanely depressing, I don't think we need it visualized.

I would, for once you get to play as the other side in a WWII FPS, instead of leading the allies to victory on D-Day you're one of the Axis soldiers defending the beach from invasion. This would be most fun.

It's Call of Duty. The only time it ever had some heart was in the first game, possibly the second. They don't have the skill to do it properly.

And if it's the same old CoD then I wouldn't care anyway. No point in doing such a severe change of perspective if you're going to be playing the same thing still.

Don't start using the words German and Nazi interchangeably. We're already assuming in this thread that German soldiers were all Nazis (they weren't).

No. Sick to death of WW2 shooters generally, and the CoD series in particular. I don't care whether they let you play as happy-happy-joy-space-bunnies with jetpacks, zapguns and laughodyne relays (that let you twist your enemies into amusing pretzel/origami shapes), I wouldn't be going back to CoD.

Nazis are a political party, Your typical German soldier was not a nazi. Besides in every single multi-player WW2 shooter you always end up playing as the germans at one point or another.

Hes talking about full-out "kicked USA's arse" play-as-the-Nazis.
Personally, it would have to be hard to put out that game. Youre talking about a game where youre SUPPOSED to lose, after all.
