I would, but no such game exists yet for current gen consoles. It doesn't help that now consoles are £350-£450...buying a console use to cost £130-200 max so it's over double what they ought to cost. The price of "that one game" is much higher now.
Of course with cross-platform development, the only games that can sell a console to me now are the exclusives, and this gen there haven't been any I care for. I'd like to play infamous, but won't buy a console for it. I'd like to play Forza 5 and Horizon 2, but not enough to buy an xbone.
SNES had SFII. N64 had Rare's best games ever. GC had RE4. And nothing after that :-(
To be honest, one of the biggest selling points of a console now for me, would be the ability to play homebrew and mess about with it. I'm not talking about piracy, I have no interest there. Just the ability to extend the functionality beyond the manufacturer's restrictions. I like the tinkering (sometimes) and there's often great stuff that can be done with a modded console. If one of the new consoles got modded, I'd probably buy it.
